Marlborough Hotel

Marlborough Hotel

8/10 Good
"Clean and safe, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very convenient for the station, the river walk, and the centre. Many pubs, restaurants, and cafes in walking distance. However amenities were a little lacking, even for the price. I stayed for two nights, first in a 3-person family room and then in a single with shared bathroom. The WiFi was patchy in the first room and didn’t always reach my room, and there was no bedside lamp or way of switching off the main light from the bed in the second, so it was very inconvenient to read in bed. The toilet was very close to my room and free whenever I needed to use it but there was no hook or shelf for my towel and toiletries (no sink in my room) and no hand towel. The shower was just a closet in the corridor with a shower inside, just one hook on the door and no dry place to change or store clothes, so presumably if I’d had a shower I would have had to go to and from my room in a towel. For this reason I didn’t use the shower. There was also no shelf in the shower for toiletries, just a small holder for shampoo or something. I think it was probably designed by a man who uses all-in-one shower gel/shampoo, lol. I’d stay again because the price is good but probably not for more than a night in the shared bathroom single room because of the shower situation. I’d suggest to the hotel that they could make a few small changes (hooks and a shelf in the shared toilet, bedside reading lights, another extension for the WiFi)"

"One approaches the hotel with a drive through beautiful woodland and then arrive at a breathtakung Elizabethan revival manor house, the archtecture is truly impressive and the interior does not disappoint either. Our room was immaculate and the facilities are top drawer, Swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym and a very smart spa. If golf is your thing there is a lovely golf course and driving range. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful which helps to create a very pleasant and relaxing vibe, all of which makes Dunston the perfect place for a relaxing break, we will definetly be coming back. Park Farm Hotel & Leisure

8/10 Good
"A really nice hotel for a special occasion, the staff were both friendly and helpful, while food was lovely. We stayed in the Boutique Suite, which was wonderful. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars was because the jacuzzi bath had an issue with the plug, which meant we were not able to enjoy this as much as we would have liked due to the bath losing water. This was reported to reception. While the food was lovely, we were bombarded by flies in the restaurant, which was a bit annoying when you're trying to enjoy a nice meal. Other than that, we had a lovely stay and will happily return again in the near the future."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Norwich

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Norwich is from January to March, when hotel prices are generally lower. To fully appreciate the city’s historical landmarks, cultural sites, and natural beauty, consider staying for at least 2 to 3 days. During your visit, you can explore significant attractions such as the stunning cathedral, charming churches, beautiful parks, and the vibrant theatre scene. Norwich also boasts friendly locals and a rich football culture, making it a great value for money destination for those on a budget.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Norwich, start by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on hotels as your travel date approaches. Moreover, consider enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com to keep informed about any flash sales or special promotions, ensuring you don't miss potential savings. The app's Smart Shopping feature allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you could be among the first to know and seize the opportunity for a last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay in a hotel in Norwich. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and could offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price tends to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer a more budget-friendly option, helping you find the best deal.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Norwich's superb public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel situated a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less populated neighbourhoods or even some of the lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
