Quiet Stay in the Heart of Downtown Madawaska
Check in was very quick and in the restaurant. Staff was very friendly. Our tolm was #4 with a king bed. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The comfort of the bed was mediocre, but not something that would prevent us from staying again if we are in the area. The electric fireplace was just a decorative TV stand because it was broken. If it doesn't work, it should be fixed or replaced. Nights were cool and we would have enjoyed the ambiance and the heat. The shower could use a detailed cleaning. . .the corners seem to be getting missed. The fan in the commode closet was horribly loud and turned on with the light. We didn''t use it. Again, if it doesn't work, fix it or replace it. The kitchenette table only had 1 chair. A room.for 2 should have 2 chairs. Although we didn't use them, there was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. We had dinner in the restaurant. Hubby had steak tips which were seasoned and cooked very well. Highly recommend. I had chicken scampi. The pound of pasta was swimming in a pool of water/garlic butter. Do not recommend. No breakfast was offered as advertised. Staff said they tried it, and it wasn't successful. The location was in a quiet neighborhood with no street noise. Overall we had a decent stay. We would stay again but try a different room. We like to support local/small business.

We liked our stay -the room and bed were clean and modern. We were on the second floor with no elevator. It had both inside and outside stairs; the latter are steep. The whole building is in need of updating. We wanted to sit on the veranda on the second floor looking out over the grounds, but the tables and furniture were dirty, That said, the hotel has a character of its own. We liked the location situated off the main road. We got a good nights sleep and enjoyed exploring Madawaska. The hotel is located only a few hundred feed from the Canadian Border Crossing. We also enjoyed going over for dinner in Edmunston, Canada.

There was trash in the yard, and trash bags on the porch by the parking lot. Porch/balcony needs to be cleaned, at least swept. Room was fine, bed was fine, full-size refrigerator, and m/w. Nice shower.

Better than those cookie cutter hotel rooms!
Nice, comfortable, clean room and bed. It's an old building, but it has had some interior renovations, which makes a huge difference. Loved the Victorian decorations and furnishings. Not sure if they have wheelchair accessible rooms, as the rooms all seemed to be upstairs. The restaurant on the ground level is accessible, though. Very friendly staff, quick check in. Overall, pleased with our stay.

No restaurant or bar on Tuesday
The place is advertised as having a bar and a restaurant on site. I booked with that in mind. The bar and restaurant are closed on Tuesday. Need to advise potential travelers in advance.

I try to stay in town while up visiting family. This was a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Watched fireworks from the veranda and had a great meal in the restaurant. I will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at Dubois for one night while passing through driving to PEI. We decided to cross the border and stay here because of the fair price. The inn is charming with a restaurant open until 8 pm, we didn’t get the chance to eat but the food looked great. The owner Ross was very pleasant and accommodating, texting us prior to arrival to ensure we would check in close to 8 pm. The room was very large with a great fridge/freezer, shower, toilet, and the comfiest bed! It is an older establishment with charm. It cleans up well. We would recommend it.

Nice and roomy place, comfortable king size bed. Air in room excellent with cooling on these hot days in Madawaska. Big fridge, work table, historic furniture with mable tops and fireplace. Got a fair deal by extending 2 more days. Carpets that fit the decor and 5 inch pine moldings all thought out the room. Will stay again. The big part was the quiet heat pump that provided the cool air.

My husband and I recently stayed at DuBois Inn over the 4th of July holiday. Our stay was excellent! Everyone made us feel welcomed, we were promptly shown to our room and it felt like home! The area is quiet, great parking, easy access to our room, we didn’t want to leave! We definitely recommend staying here and plan on using DuBois Inn for future trips back to Maine!

Upsides: The owners seemed very nice and the setting is very peaceful. The room was spacious and accessible from an outside entrance. Downsides: There was no TV or lamps in the room. The refrigerator was loud when it ran at night. The bedding smelled strong like perfume or really strong smelling detergent.
