False advertisement!
Before the stay, the owner was contacted, but no answer. Upon arrival, there was confusion of which cabin was the one we were staying. It is behind the main house, not as in the description. The first night we stayed home for dinner, we needed a can opener, but there was none, dirty dishes were also pulled out of the cabinet. Two rolls of toilet paper were all we had for five people for two and a half days. (the owner was nice, but called two days into the stay to bring a can opener and extra supplies needed) The roof was rotted and falling on the porch, the trim on the stairs was broken off on one part and had nails sticking up. Kids were on this trip, thankfully noticed it before they stepped on it. The property itself had no way to explore due to everything being completely overgrown. The adults walked down past the porch and were covered in little red ticks. So we did not allow the kids to go out anywhere but the porch and inside the house. The parking was fine, but we did not realize there are 4 “apartments” connected to the one we stayed in, it was also not specified in the description. The “common area” described in the listing is NOT on the property, it is down the road at Lake Fort Smith. We did enjoy the fact there was the ability to get to the lake quickly, but they do not allow swimming in the lake. They do have a pool/splash pad in the state park though with a fee. I want to say more but am out of characters. Overall, okay stay, false advertising. Needs update.
