Turned up on the day of the booking. Was advised on their website that someone was there from 1pm till 7pm each day. We got there a little after 2pm. The place was deserted. We rang the bell for CHECK IN as advised on a note on the front door. And waited as instructed in the note. Nothing. No one answered. We rang the first tel no. and could hear it in the restaurant, but no one answered. We rang several times, and then called the mobile number listed on their website - it was out of service. We wet on a ferry rider around Lake Orta and called them again around 4.30 - still no answer. I messaged via the Expedia link to the hotel asking them to respond asap as we needed a room and if we hadn't heard from them by 5.15pm we would have to start looking for alternative accommodation. Nothing still, so we called again at 5.20pm and no one answered and the call cuts off automatically and there is no option to leave a voice mail. So I had to message again and say we were going elsewhere and asking them to explain what had happened and NOT to charge us for a no-show as we had done everything in our power to access the accommodation as per the confirmed booking from months previously. Diabolical service and waste of holiday time driving up mountains to find them and there not even being a notice to say what time they might return, or an alternative no to call or someone else that could let us in, nor any kind of apology or explanation.
