    Great hotel

Hotel was lovely in every respect. Room was big, clean and comfortable. We were not in the main part of the hotel, but in one of the chalets at the edge of the garden, which was actually really lovely. The staff we all helpful and really nice and good houmoured. Wifi was great, good signal all over the hotel, even in the garden. Bar was great, and breakfast was fantastic. 3 to 4 min walk to market square. Next trip to Bruges, we will be staying here.

Duke’s Palace lives up to its name!

Great 2 night stay at this beautiful hotel in Brugge. Reception staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel lobby and bar are beautifully appointed. The rooms.. wow! Spacious by any standard, bathrooms have heated flooring and large soaking tubs and the beds or the most comfortable we found in our three weeks day throughout Europe. The hotel is just a few minutes walk to the central square. Highly recommend.

Birthday treat let down - not a five star superior

Stayed here for 5 days. The staff are pleasant enough and the rooms are large and spacious. Beware though that the lower floor rooms have a view of a shabby roof which could be easily fixed with some green screening. We did ask to change but we were shown a room a couple of floors above that still overlooked the same roof but had no bath. There is no milk provided just creamer and the towels are thin and have threads hanging from them. In the hallway there are some shabby areas where wallpaper has been scrapped. The rooms are nicely decorated at the standard of Hilton or similar chain hotel. The breakfast was disappointing with no table service apart from coffee so the hot offering was over cooked eggs and if you wanted sausage and bacon it came on a bed of omelette type egg served in a bowl. The pastries and coffee were lovely though. A warning that the restaurant and bar are very over priced. We had croque monsieur in the bar and it was served in a bowel with no attempt to make it look nice with side salad or crisps. We had the restaurant booked and were prepared for high prices but we left when we were told that if we wanted water we had to have bottled. Personally I think this is a rip off and if you are going to charge such high prices why do you need to be so petty about serving tap water. There are some lovely restaurants in Brugge and we found Couvert which is lovely. In summary, this hotel does not live up to its five star superior rating.

    Book it, it’s fab!

Exceptional! There was absolutely nothing negative about our stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. The location is great for making the most of your time here. If driving to Brugge by car, call and ask ahead for the postcode to make it to the car park. I did several laps of the one way system before giving them a ring after using the hotel’s address per google. We were allowed to check in slightly early, as our room was available. Room service was prompt, professional and very helpful. Breakfast was out of this world. My only comments would be the room we stayed in showed signs of previous visitors who had marked the walls by the doorway with their luggage, and European guests didn’t quite grasp the concept of queueing at the front desk for check out on the Sunday morning.

    Lovely stay

A quiet side-street location, but within a very short (couple of minute) walk from the main square. Lovely, luxurious hotel - all very clean and comfortable throughout. Drinks in bar were expensive, but perhaps to be expected. Breakfast was a hefty 28 euros per person (and cut off at 10.30am) which is a bit steep in cost and would have appreciated a later time at weekends. Only minor thing to mention was that check out at 11am is a very busy time and the process took about 25 minutes. There appeared to be an orderly queue, but I think - perhaps - some of our continental friends haven't actually grasped the concept of queuing as it was a bit of a free for all scrum to make it to the desk each time a receptionist became available. I found this mildly amusing, though others may be frustrated by this...
