Fair for the price but not fantastic
Hotel Posta was fine overall, though a little pricy for what you get. The common areas were lovely (not splendid), the breakfast was lovely (not amazing), and the location is perfect if you have a car, as the public garage is right next door and it's at the top of the island. (No need to worry about driving through the quaint but crooked streets or lugging your luggage down the island). I will say the room was small and relatively comfort-less. It was stark white (unlike the photos) with a thin sheet (weird they didn't put the blanket on the bed) with two thin pillows (we did ask for more) and a hard as nails mattress. We made it homey ourselves by the second day, but the first day was a bit of a shock - we felt like we were entering a nunnery. I'm not sure why for a few bucks they don't add a splash of color or make your bed for you. If the room had been 150 euros it would have been fine, but it wasn't. (There was also something odd about the payment upon checkout - still need to confirm we were charged the right amount).

I LOVED this little hotel SO MUCH! It was so beautiful and simple and sweet. The room was bright and airy and everything worked well! There were really nice common areas on the ground floor. The rooftop terrace in the morning with the deep view was charming. What made this hotel stand out for us though was the hospitality. Keira and Anna were phenomenal. So friendly accommodating and helpful. They spoke perfect English and did everything to make our stay perfect. The location is also SO great! next to the market, and the water, it was very easy to find our way around the island. I highly recommend going to The Sicilian Puppet Show, Dave restaurant, going to Francisco who makes sandwiches at the market like its art, and doing the sea caves boat tour with swimming! We were only there one night but I wish we had AT LEAST 3 at this spot! We will be back!

Perfect Lodging for Enjoying the Best of Ortygia
Not far from the Archimedes Statue that stands on the bridge from Siracusa, Hotel Posta sits near the sea with a free parking lot nearby. The staff is friendly and knowledgable. Our room was comfortable, and included a balcony with a table and chairs. A large breakfast buffet is served on the roof. Hotel Posta is ideal for exploring the lively fish market as well as all the archeological and historical sites crammed into this small town. The only downside was that the breakfast area is small, so we had to sign up for a specific time to eat.

Value for location
Off season visit (February). Modest hotel, great value for location. Property is older & feels it. Ok sized room with small balcony. Small bathroom & tiny shower. Friendly efficient staff. Breakfast had home cooked feel to standard European buffet.

A lovely palazzo-style hotel
A very quaint older-style hotel right on the harbour side of the old city. Busy local tourist area, but hotel is quiet. Excellent breakfast. Local restaurants are hit-and-miss due to tourism. Try the tratorria or the Sicilian place right next door, since they are a bit off the beaten track, and I found them excellent compared with the trendy ones in the heart of Instagram Town.

Highly recommended!
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was well presented and had a large choice of different foods. All very fresh. We had a lovely room #206 a corner room with two balconies and a view of the water/harbor. An added plus there was an elevator! The hotel is in a very conveniently location making it easy to walk to sights and restaurants. Very happy to have found this “gem”.

The hotel was on Ortigia Island and walkable to everything, including the train station. The room and hotel were very clean and I happened to have a sea view room with a nice little balcony on it. It was a bit too cold (March) for me to enjoy doing that, and the breakfast, which, in better weather can be eaten outside was a good international breakfast buffet. The breakfast room (inside) is small, so I suppose, during busy season there might be a seating issue, but I didn't experience that. The staff was professional and helpful. My only slight negative was that it was pretty cold in the room and there was no way to control the heat. (Generally, in Italy, you can still have heat access through the end of March.)
