Paul and Fiona are wonderful hosts. The rooms are very comfortable (I've stayed in the triple rooms) and are set up with everything you need. The location is a short walk from the city walls and is very convenient to walk to all sites you want to see in the city. The breakfasts are excellent and varied to suit all tastes. You just have to select your breakfast choices the night before and everything is ready for you when you come down. Overall, I've stayed here numerous times and this is always my first choice when visiting York. Highly recommended!

Wow! We wanted to stay somewhere walkable to York city centre that also had parking for our hire car and Monkbridge exceeded all our expectations. The warm and informative welcome, the comfortable and beautifully renovated rooms, the cooked to order breakfast, the overall service and all the little extras and touches made our 2 night stay amazing. Thanks so much to our hard working hosts who have also painstakingly restored the building into an amazing B&B!

Stayed for one night and couldn’t have been more pleased. The room was spotless and well-appointed, with an ensuite bathroom, a minibar, and thoughtful touches like complimentary drinks. The entire property was immaculately clean and clearly well cared for. Service was excellent—staff were welcoming, helpful, and made the stay feel effortless. Breakfast was another highlight, featuring homemade and locally sourced condiments like jams, butter, and sausages, which added a lovely personal touch. Absolutely fantastic! Hosts Paul and Fiona were amazing from the moment we arrived. We got there early as planned, and Paul kindly guided us into the free parking at the back of the hotel. The room was lovely, complete with a selection of chocolates and treats available on an honesty system. And the breakfast was simply outstanding! Made with fresh local ingredients and cooked to perfection. Overall, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly! Thank you
