Good place to stay
A unique, fun place to stay. Hotel staff was very accomodating in helping us to have a room that met my disability needs. Shuttle met us at railroad and took care of getting our luggage to our room.

Washers
The self serve washers were run by an app that did not work. Staff was able to start them with their over-ride. Glad to have them available

Great service but room condition poor
All the people working there are very helpful. Unfortunately, the room’s condition is very poor. Carpet and sofa feel and look dirty. Bathroom floor tile is broken. No WiFi signal in room. We were there in September; maybe the condition was better at the beginning of travel season.

Great service but rooms need updated
The staff and service is exceptional. The accommodations are outdated and minimal. There are no USB ports in the rooms and no room service.

A musty smell. Hammering til late. Liked shampoo etc in shower. Coffee was appreciated. Staff friendly and accommodating. Lotion would have been good. Stairs were a bit of a challenge. Scenery awesome.

Grizzly Bear Resort is the best option in Denali
One of the two rooms that I had booked was next to the ice machine in cotton wood building. When I went back to the front desk to request for a different room, the representative was clueless and on top of it they offered another room with same issue. The representative who interacted with me was unprofessional and I had to request that individuals to engage the supervisor.

Arrived at property around 6:30 PM.. no parking was available - they asked me to park little further. Went to park at other parking area where no shuttle was available and it was not possible to walk back to checking counter with 4 bags. Drove back again at main parking lot since I had 4 bags with me. Staff was helpful but parking arrangement is horrible.. avoid this place if you have more bags / luggage.

The location of this property is superb; yet the condition of this resort varies too much (compared to what is shown on the booking page). Our room was small and really outdated. I was expecting a nicer overall condition of the hardware but was given a room that looked like in the 80s or 90s. The staff here were really nice and friendly though.

Nice Time at the Shalet
It was a good comfortable stay. We also ate at the hotel’s steak house restaurant and had a good experience. Had to use a resort shuttle bus to get to room at Canyon Lodge.

I had a great experience at this property. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The rooms were clean and everything worked as it should. My only issue was that the wifi didn't reach the rooms.

It was crowded and old
It was so busy and overly touristy. It was nice that they offered complimentary shuttle. They would not let me checknusnin because it was made under my husbands name which is annoying but fine, but she didnt even bring up the 2nd room we booked for my non-english speaking in laws. We noticed after that we only had 1 set of room keys. When my husband went back to the counter to check in for the 2nd room we booked they required my father in law to come show his id and check in dispite the room being booked under my husbands account. The rooms were fine but the buildings are old and need up dates and there was a lot of mildew in the bathroom. The wifi did not work.
