Staff made it worth it
The front desk staff was INCREDIBLY friendly and helpful. The motel is old but they are in the middle of renovations and clearly trying to update. It’s your standard roadside motel, but very clean. Beds and pillows weren’t the most comfortable but for just a place to sleep one night, possibly two, it does just fine.

Up and Coming Lodging in Socorro
The outside of the property is completely unappealing, however, clearly renovations and upgrades are underway inside. The tile and flooring is very nice, the bathroom lighting (especially the built in mirror lighting) was excellent. Once they finish capping electrical connections in the ceiling it will have a nicer appearance. Night stands and at least one lamp would and a clock would be nice touches. HVAC worked well, but no satellite signal for TV. Staff was pleasant and very polite and helpful.

Acceptable and economical
If you just need a place to sleep and take a shower - it was acceptable. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the bed sheets clean. We had our own pillows. The water pressure was a bit low but enough to take a shower. If you're not planning on spending a lot of time in the room other than sleep than it's acceptable and economical.

A work in progress with a long way to go
The San Miguel Inn is inexpensive, and you get what you pay for. The room was clean, if funky. The mattress was uncomfortable. Some of the towels, smelling of bleach, were old and badly stained. The bathtub requires resurfacing and the sofa replacing. Remodeling of this tired motel is in process, but it needs a lot of TLC.

2/10 Poor

The worst place I have ever stayed.
The stairs to the room were of uneven widths and were paved with slippery indoor tiles like bathroom wall tiles. There were exposed wires hanging from the ceiling. There was mold in the shower and peeling wallpaper. I reserved and paid for a non-smoking room with two queen beds. Instead I got room 33 upstairs, a smoking room with one queen bed and one much smaller bed.

Comfortable for the price and location. Very quiet and access to a few local restaurants. Owners very professional and friendly.

4/10 Fair

Room condition was poor. Smoke alarm hanging from wires in ceiling. Bare light bulbs with no fixtures. Black stained shower mat with peeling wall paper in bathroom. I realize I did not book a luxury room, but I do expect the room to be complete and presentable to a Motel 6 like standard. There are better options in the area for equivalent money. I would seek those other options next time.

Run down motel, bug infested, room condition poor, curtains broken, room smelled like cat piss, toilet not flushing well, bath tub not draining well when showering plus filthy, had to cut my stay short as this motel was not good. Dont stay here, not worth it.

For budget lodging, San Miguel Inn is a great option. The rooms were clean, the inn was quiet, and although the facility is a little run down, the owners are making caring renovations. The inn felt safe too, with good lighting, what seems to be a community of long-term tenants, and lots of kids' toys in front of units. I'll happily stay here again on future trips around Socorro.

Sleep only nothing else!
Cheap room, bed ok, a couple of towels you could see through, chairs that were filthy and bottomed out. Why did we stay? Price! But never again.

San Miguel
Was very disappointed because the pool is (seasonal) and wasnt open but they were remodeling the whole place so no ice machine and the pics they had of the rooms weren't at the hotel.

Refurbishing is in-progress
Checkin was literally outside at a picnic table; the office is completely closed and torn up. Overall, the hotel is a dilapidated wreck, with a bunch of residential-looking tenants--a little bit scary. But my upstairs room was clean-ish, with a big HDTV that worked as an external monitor for my laptop, and the wifi was solid. My stay was fine. I slept OK, it was not as noisy as I feared, I wish it were darker. The bed was a bit hard but some people like it like that. Shower fixtures were loose but not leaking. It looks like the (east Indian) management is working on things and making progress.

Don't believe whats advertised. No pool, no secured parking, no business center. Place is a total dump. They appear to be doing low income long term rentals, or migrant housing. The place is under some sort of construction, trash and debris everywhere. Rooms smelled of mold. Didn't end up staying so cannot commit on the free breakfast, but as the entire lobby was blocked off,not sure where it would be. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
