I thought the room was clean and the beach was beautiful. Overall, I did not find the staff friendly or helpful and the prices were outrageous. I've stayed at some beautiful resorts and had a more pleasurable experience.
I had a great time on my vacation at the Westin. It's right on the beach with fantastic views and a great pool. The downfall of the Westin was that it lacked that personal touch and had a commercialized feel to it. The Westin felt like they wanted to squeeze every dollar out of you. They charged for everything. The resort fee of $65 USD per day was for the "use of beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, pools and more". This fee literally included nothing "more" except two bottles of water a day that weren't even delivered everyday. Just nitpicking here, but the contract they make you sign when you check in has the daily resort fee listed at $60 USD, but they didn't honor that. The front desk just said "oh this is an old form and hasn't be updated yet". Not a great business practice. The beach had cabanas and daybeds which had my girlfriend and I excited, but we found out you couldn't use them unless you paid extra (~$500 for the cabana). I get the whole premise of making money and having a business, but i think the Westin went a little overboard here. Also, they had a lot of companies that hosted events there. The hotel would close down sections of the pool deck/other areas of the hotel to host these private events without much warning, except for a sign on the door the day of the event. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, but just be aware that everything at the hotel is grossly overpriced. If you can get past that, then this hotel is great.
The beds were too small we basically suffered every night ! I was looking forward to the heavenly bed experience but got hell instead. I had asked for sea view for my birthday, they didn’t accommodate us. I was extremely disappointed. If I knew I’d be staring at the parking lot I would have stayed at the sunshine suites and saved myself a small fortune. The inside of the pool was run down. The bbq was way too expensive especially for kids who only eat One hot dog. There was little communication regarding activities ie 24 hour sign up for cookies, or sand castle building cancelled. My son was a minute late for trivia and the girl wouldn’t let him join and he started crying. There was little communication overall we found out about the wine and sushi or happy hour on the day we were leaving.... the girl at the activity desk lied to me when I asked if I could find stingray and starfish tours elsewhere and cheaper she said ... no. We did! The woman at towel station was extremely rude every time I asked for a towel. I also think live music should last longer and should be a bit more lively overall. Good points: activity lady named ever , the guy with curly blonde hair who works with ever doing activities and Mary the waitress! These staff members were kind, pleasant and professional. They made up for the rudeness we experienced overall. Also the cocktails were great! And the outdoor layout of pool side was beautiful.
Great location. The renovation is great. The food and beach were perfect. We usually stay next door at the ritz but we’re very pleasantly surprised with the facilities and the level of service.
The Ferdinnand restaurant was by far our best dinner .We ate at Pappagallo , Lobster Pot ,The Wharf, Cracked Conch and Grand Ol House to compare . EXCELLENT STAFF. Disliked the huge too High sink in our room . I am 5'2 and my husband is 5'10 we hated it too large and too high. Difficult to keep clean and no counter space on sides ,everything kept falling into sink. other than that we had a super stay and we will be back to your great beach hotel .
This property has an incredibly beautiful, wide beach with lovely views and lots of umbrellas and loungers. Very pleased that you have beach chairs and nice beach towels.
Recent renovations are very nice. Beach is spectacular. Staff are friendly.
The location is perfect! The staff is very mindful and friendly- hard to find that kind of service these days. Not much or anything to complain about here.
Great location on seven mile beach. Enjoyed our stay
