Comfy stay
This was just an overnight stop, but I would recommend the hotel highly. The room and bathroom were excellent and the bed was very comfortable. The self service buffet breakfast was very generous Such a shame that the owners can’t operate the bar/restaurant anymore due to energy costs.

8/10 Very good

Basic but great. No food in the evening and very very basic self service diy breakfast. Dinner best at nearby Radisson. Breakfast on the road.

Local to motorway which can be heard. Breakfast does not include toast and preserves.

Good hotel but couple of problems.
Noise due to proximity to M74 motorway. Room had damp patch on roof. There was a constant drpping sound. And there was a massive green fire escape light which lit up the room all night. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great.

Great hotel, great value for money.
Fantastic hotel! Just what we needed for seeing Coldplay at Hampden Park. Easy access off M74, lovely friendly staff, clean room & very comfy beds.

Absolutely loved this hotel, the owner and staff are so friendly and accommodating. In fact the owner went above and beyond for us - on our first stay they didn't have any sea bream but he got some in especially for our return trip a few days later even though it wasn't his normal day for fish delivery! Very happy to recommend and we will definitely stay here again if we travel to Scotland

Enjoyed my stay here. Suggest trying to get a room facing the Courtyard. Some may find the traffic noise disturbing. Great bathroom in my room with a king bed. Had a spa!

Comfortable, handy for M74, good food
Clean and comfortable, except that the room was a tad small. There was no WiFi in the room, had to go to the bar to connect. Food in the restaurant/bar was very good.

6/10 Good

If you want just a clean bed it’s fine, otherwise
Positives = clean room with good bed and decent shower, plus good parking. Negatives = check in closes at 8pm, corridors had a bit of an odour(!), breakfast was very disappointing (choice of 2 cereals, boxed apple juice or tea/coffee made by yourself. Some shop purchased pastries in their airtight plastic wrapper and an apple or tangerine.

Short break to visit relatives
Lovely convenient hotel next to the motorway, room was fantastic, big, clean with a very large bed. Only downside is that it’s advertised as breakfast included and it was only a few pastries, fruit and a choice off 3 cereals. There were tea/coffee but you had to make everything yourself as the whole dining room was unmanned. Shame really and shouldn’t be advertised as breakfast included. Only had apple juice cartons in fridge, no orange juice. The only time we seen anyone was when we arrived and then we had to ring the door bell for someone to check us in, disappointed in the breakfast.

Exceptional stay, couldnt fault it
Stayed for one night and it was really lovely! Couldn't fault our stay, the owners were lovely, friendly and very chatty! Made us feel so welcome! Room was spacious, clean and modern, the bath in the room is amazing! We had a meal here too and was some of the best food we've had in a long time, had the steak pie and there wasnt a bit of fat in it, all amazing cuts of beef, pie crust was nice and buttery, veg was cooked to perfection! My partner had the Chicken Balmoral which was just as amazing as mine! Whole stay was worth every penny, We will defos be back!

Disappointed with our stay.
There were a lot of bugs in our room and there were pills underneath one of the units beside the bed. One of our beds had bugs under the duvet cover and employees walked into our room 3 times without knocking or letting us know they were coming in, one time they even unlocked the door and walked in as my partner was in the shower and I was sat on the bed, no privacy at all and the room was unclean. Very disappointed with our stay.

4 star hotel guest house false rating
When booked the information indicated limited food service for guests + bar (open to public limited days), on arrival told hotel on winter break, no food, bar or even vending machine. Reception was abrupt/rude. No indication of facilities nearby, takeaway etc.no attempt made, most unhelpful. Steps on entry/exit (different) iced & dangerous, reception unmanned, had to leave building to ring ext bell for assistance. Tv remote missing. Large comfy bed but small room. Very clean, limited lighting in room, sensor activated elsewhere. Very disappointed with ignorant attitude. Cant see how this merits many stars, what criteria was used.

Ghost hotel
The hotel was basically closed. There was myself and another couple staying at the hotel. There were no staff on site. We were given key to access hotel and another key to access our room. The restaurant is closed. The site advertises breakfast included. This was very limited as shown in pictures. The kitchen was closed so no access to the toaster. Breakfast was cereal (choice of 3) fruitjuice (choice of one), yoghurts. There was a 4pt of milk in the chiller. 2 bananas and 2 apples, a few random biscuits , flapjacks and chocolate croissants. The rooms were clean and tidy and the bed was comfortable with a wet room & shower. Myself and the other couple were put at opposite ends of the hotel on 2 different floors even though we knew one another and had gone up to Larkhall for the same event. Photographs of restaurant and coffee shop need to be removed from the site. It needs to state limited breakfast available. If guests had any food allergies Dairy or Gluten then breakfast would be out of the question for them with the limited choice. The location of the hotel is ideal with ample parking. I understand the owners are looking to retire. It would be a pity to see the hotel close fully. I would have been very worried if I had turned up there on my own to stay and had been the only one staying there.
