Cosy cottage by the sea
Fabulous location by the sea, a group of cottages and a cosy restaurant which served us an amazing 4 course Christmas meal on one of our evenings. Room was warm, spacious and comfortable.

A hit or a miss when it comes to service
The location is brilliant and the hotel-village is very pretty. We stayed two nights either end of the trip, and I cannot fault the first night at all, everything was super, apart from the electric kettle that we had to clean as someone must have tried cooking something in it and burned it. For the second night despite our specific request our cottage was changed from the sea facing one to an inner-yard one with a lot of light pollution from a glaring projector and non-working restaurant that remains bright through the night, also very little privacy. But the worst surprise was the bed linen - they forgot to change it from previous guests, so there were breadcrumbs and hair etc. When we reported the issue, we did not get any reply, not even an apology. I did not want to write this review as one-off mistakes can happen, but not getting an apology hinted that the issue could be more systemic. Hopefully they take note, the place could be good value for money when travelling with kids, but do check your bedding and other things while it is still working hours to avoid the yak feeling of having been in a stranger's bed....

Would not reccomend
We were so excited about this stay but it really did dissapoint. So much promise yet delivered so little. -Hot tub was very lack-luster (dirty) -Suggested restaurant was very far away and a far cry from the 'fun viking' themed night we were promised -Empty shower gel in the shower -No one around to ask/speak to

Unique Property, Good Value
Such a cool spot! Just don't expect the typical hotel amenities such as a restaurant, staff, and so on. However, if you are looking for a place to stay that's a bit unusual and out of the way, look no further. Great for a couple or even small family if you choose the rooms with the lofts. I loved that the skylights and all the glass. Would definitely stay here again!

They were super helpful and accommodating with early check-in. We were exhausted from our international flight and truly appreciated it.

Nice stay, conveniently between KEF and Reykjavik, basically self-service for check-in/out but staff were quick to answer the phone for questions. Stay provided a discount on breakfast at sister location, Viking Hotel, which was a decent buffet. Hot tub and sauna were not working on arrival but call to staff number brought someone quickly who was able to reset controls and get them up to temperature quickly. Bed was comfortable, shower was strong with plentiful water (no sulphur smells!)

We used this as our home away from home, venturing out on day trips. It was a very peaceful and cozy stay, with unbeatable views of the ocean and sky’s just outside the room. The rooftop jacuzzi tubs and sauna were a nice touch too!
