This was a reasonably priced hotel with really friendly and helpful staff. The facilities are dated and need refreshing - for example, my shower leaked and the curtains in my room didn't draw all the way across the window, letting in a lot of street light and noise. The breakfast is really basic with no choices, just cheap bread, ham and cheese with coffee and atrifical juice. However the room was clean and the location is convenient for the bus station and central Punta. For the price, it was ok, and the really nice staff made it much better than it would otherwise have been.

Good central location. Welcoming staff. Decor is a bit tired, but the rooms are comfortable. Coffee and tea making facilities in the room would have been nice.

Disappointing quality of breakfast.
In general poor quality for the high price charged.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the bed sheets were dirty and no way I would take a shower in the bath. Noisy all night long drag racing in the street and yelling.

Needs some updates. The hotel is old and even though is clean, it does not look and smell like clean one. The staff is fantastic!

Overall, a good, safe place in a central location. The in-room fridge was a great bonus and they were nice about storing some of my luggage. I did not like that they were not flexible with the breakfast times due to my daytour starting before their breakfast did.

Convenient Punta Arenas stay.
The staff at hotel is great! The room comfortable, with efficiency (small fridge and stove, but no utensils). There is a restaurant and bar attached. Breakfast was good. The one drawback is that hotel is located right in heart of town on corner of two busiest streets. At late night, especially weekends, there is considerable traffic noise which cannot be blotted out - since there is no a/c where you can run the fan. Unless you are a very sound sleeper, ask for 4th floor room away from street.

When we checked in the staff said they only have our reservation for one night and if we need a room for the next day we have to pay extra. we had made reservation for two nights and told them that we are going to call expedia and the lady immediately said she will give us a room. there was no breakfast in the hotel though we booked the hotel with the breakfast. Will not recommend this as the location is also not close to any landmark.

This property was disgusting! Walls, furniture, sheets, carpet all look like they haven’t been replaced in thirty years! The blanket on the bed had a whole in it that you could put your hand through. The towels and bed linens were awful! The mattress and pillows were cheap and old. The sink and shower leaks. The shower tile is cracked and separating from the wall due to all the water damage. I have never been so over charged for such an outdated hotel. For this price point updates are expected. There are can air fresheners every ten feet. Could that be hiding the mold and mildew smell that must be prominent without them. Was stuck there because it was New Years Eve and better options were booked full in September.

The property is more like a hostel. Old, dingy, and -overall- feels a little dirty. Left after 2 hours/3 hours after booking the room.

Close to center square and bus station
We checked in late and were put in a noisy room which was frustrating after 30+ hours of travel. The hotel was able to move us to a different room the next day and it was a significant improvement. I would recommend asking to NOT be put in room 201, next to the stairs. The breakfast was varied and the coffee was good. The night desk worker in particular and the day staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is clean and basic. It is located within walking distance to the bus station where you catch the transfer to Puerto Natales. We were within walking distance of the minimal shopping available and to the office for the penguin expeditions.

The hotel is very dated and dirty. The front staff is nice and the breakfast is decent but the rooms need major TLC and they do not justify the cost of $210/night.

Hotel Tierra del Fuego is in the city.
Hotel Tierra del Fuego is located right in the heart of the city where everything is in walking distance. We arrived there after a week being in Torres del Paine and were staying there for one night before we departed. The hotel lobby was nice and the staff was very friendly. When we got to our room - it was just ok but what we expected. The decor was a little drab but it was clean and the bathroom had recently been renovated which was nice. We walked around the city and shopped for souvenirs and had dinner at a nice restaurant. Checkout the next morning was easy. A breakfast buffet was provided with the normal things that we expected - meats, cheese, bread, cereal, yogert, etc. Overall the stay was what we expected and we would stay there again for one night on our way out of town.

Thank you
The hotel staff went above and beyond to help us arrange a shuttle to take us to our 6 am flight when we were traveling with skis that wouldn't fit in the cab. Thank you!
