Cute little room!!
We stayed 3 nights for a family holiday. Room was very cute. Probably should’ve looked at the bathroom picks (clear glass shower instead of a curtain and we had our children with us , lol).

Absolutely wonderful
I’m usually hesitant to stay at motels, but I see by the photos and pictures of the owners that a lot of love had gone into it. It was even better than I had hoped. The owner was so hospitable and my experience couldn’t have been better.

Ten Stars!!!
This is our second time staying at the Sierra and we absolutely loved our time here, Whats funny is that across the street from the hotel are some big-box chain hotels and we both asked ourselves why anyone would want to stay at those places when there is such a cozy, comfy, original and more local option just across the street at the Sierra. Regardless, we could not recommend the Sierra more, The team there is attentive and kind, and makes you feel at home. The decor is chic and timeless. Our fur babies also loved their time there and said we need to come back soon!!

Traverse City Gem
Came across this place as part of a larger trip to and from the East Coast. It was the design aesthetic that caught my eye as well as the price -- and it did not disappoint. Super friendly owner, comfortable beds and minutes from the heart of TC so it was quiet without being disruptive to our rest. Would 100% stay here again.

It’s an older property so some of that is evident, but the owners have done SUCH a cute job renovating and updating this place and you can feel the heart in it! It feels very upscale and we felt well taken care of. Clean and comfy accommodations with cute details and beautiful spaces outside to enjoy. Incredibly kind staff and easy parking! Would stay again if in the area!

Great management that was very helpful and courteous. Cute rooms with fun retro vibe that were very clean. A little bit of road noise but not anything that really bothered me. This spot is very convenient to downtown Traverse City and Old Mission Peninsula. It had good parking, was safe, and was dog friendly.

As we turned off Munson Avenue into the Sierra Motel's parking lot, I couldn't help but imagine cruising in a classic '59 Chevy Corvette or a '65 Ford Mustang Convertible! The Sierra Motel, which opened its doors in 1957, exudes delightful mid-century charm that really grabbed us. Owners Barrett and Andrea, who have relocated from Napa Valley, have meticulously updated the motel. Our stay featured a luxurious king-size bed, high-quality furniture and fixtures that reflect the quintessential Mid-Century Modern style, and a well-appointed bathroom with stunning tile work. The era-appropriate paint schemes, both inside and out, added to the overall "cool" vibe of the place. We are eagerly looking forward to our next visit!

6/10 Good

The facility is newly remodeled and well kept. My main complaint is that the pet fee policy wasn't as easy to find as other listings on Orbitz. After checking-in and paying the fee, I was able to find it on Orbitz after searching a bit. But, I still have an issue with its relative vagueness. From now on, I will understand $$$ per pet (varies based on length of stay, to mean that much per night. Most other pet-friendly hotels say per night or flat fee clearly on the listing.

Room would be better suited with one bed and a small sleeper sofa. Nice style but room was too cramped. Mattress was hard. Owners tried to be accommodating.
