Beautiful hotel, located in the middle of Porto. The hotel was located in front of the plaza where they hold São João yearly festival. Definitely not a quiet place, at least when I stayed. However, the area has a very vibrant energy. The hotel is clean, nice location, the service was excellent. The employees were attentive and helpful when providing directions and recommendations to do in the city. Definitely recommended.

Don't book room 305.
Beautifully smartly renovated old beaulding in the heart of Porto. Very close to Sao Bento station which is one of the most beautiful in the world with tiles adorning the walls painted by one man over 7 years. Due to construction which has been going on for 4 years due to an archeological find the station is difficult to exit because of cladding. Unfortunately there is a bar directly below our room 305 and because it is in a back area the noise came straight up despite excellent hotel insulation. Some nights were worse than others. We did request a room change but tbere were no twin bed rooms available.

Axis Porto Club is conveniently located near a lot of restaurants, shopping and historic monuments. The customer service is very good. The hotel rooms are spacious with comfortable layout, modern look and well maintained. Breakfast buffet is convenient and food is ok. We would definitely stay here again!

Super quiet despite being in the city center. Excellent blackout curtains. King-size and comfortable bed. Plenty of free toiletries. Kind and very helpful staff. Breakfasts offered good variety and kept us satisfied till dinnertime. Special thanks to breakfast room staffperson Paula, who filled our water bottles with ice and water each day as we headed out. Good location for exploring the city. Not a quibble but a note: ads for the hotel state it is 150 meters from the train station. That's true for Trindade train (and bus) station, which is where you would arrive from the airport. The Sao Bento train station, which is where we arrived by train from Lisbon, is a longer 15 to 20 minute walk away. (Do visit Sao Bento for its amazing tilework.) In short, we would happily stay at this hotel again.--Mark, New York City
