Business trip for one week
At check-in they ignored the extra benefits from my booking with hotels.com but offered 1.5 of them (free drink and later check-out although very slight) when taken up by the manager. The room was very noisy and a little dirty. I was offered a room change and would now make this my regular Auckland hotel if I could be guaranteed that room location on any of the top 4 floors. Staff after that were amazing. Greatly appreciated.

Comfortable stay with accessible location
Great stay. Location of the hotel was good - it was close to the Sky Tower bus terminal and there were two supermarkets nearby. The staff were very nice and they offered me early check in on the day of my arrival. The room was clean and tidy. Overall a comfortable stay.

2/10 Poor

Avoid
I don’t like to give bad reviews but this review would have helped my family. The unit seemed a bit worn out although parts had been updated. The surface cleaning seemed ok but it needed a deep clean. There was a very strong cold draft coming through the main bedroom window as the weather seal was missing, we stuffed it all around with toilet paper to try and stop it. The heat pump in the room was on high when we arrived and all night which seems very energy inefficient when the windows could be fixed easily. The morning after heavy rain there was a big puddle of water on the downstairs floor coming from the wall, unsure if from window or heating unit. The biggest problem for our family was that the second morning we found a live bed bug in the main bed, then after looking found another live one in the floor under the bedside table. Both myself and my child, sleeping in the other room, came out in bites. This was really awful and we are now worried about bringing them home in our stuff - this caused stress for the rest of the trip, as well as the physical/financial effort of trying to check/treat our stuff. The bedding all looked ok and quite new when we checked it so I would guess the bugs live in the crevices of the room itself. We caught the bugs and showed the staff who were apologetic and gave a 50% refund, but really the hotel needs to address pest management much more seriously.

Perfect for a night or two in the CBD
The staff during check in were super helpful. Explained any costs in detail The room was functional - had everything you’d need (including an excellent shower). If I’m to be picky, wasn’t a fan of the hardwood floor - it was kinda cold, and the bed is way too soft for my personal preference. But still a very respectable hotel and would gladly stay there again.
