If you don't mind the noise of constant festivals in the centre of town, then this place has everything, including a nice rooftop deck. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful.

2/10 Poor

Received an extortion call at 4am trying to get money from me. The hotel staff gave my number to these people. Asked locals the next morning and it is a usual scam where tourist are falsely accused of illicit activities and asked to pay a bribe or else…. Phones are usually leaked by hotel staff. Fortunately I caught on early enough not to fall for it. Never will give my number out when registering at a hotel again. On another note, bathroom absolutely smelled awful, like sewers. Room was not as clean as it could be. If I ever go back to SM will definitely be staying at chain manages hotel, although more expensive it is safer.

You can't beat the location of this place! Just steps from the main square of San Miguel De Allende. Literally everything I wanted to see was right there. Good food at the restaurant, Drug store downstairs, and Starbucks two doors down.

6/10 Good

Noisy (VERY) but super well located
Noisy noisy noisy. (Quiet from 12am-7am). The best thing about this place is the location. The bed was comfy. The rooms are courtyard view that open onto a general commercial center. So there’s art galleries, a beauty salon, pharmacy and a restaurants. You hear ALL the comings and goings of EVERYONE. Don’t plan on a midday nap.

4/10 Fair

Great location with a major issue.
The staff was very pleasant. Yet when she opened the door to the room there was a foul odor. Turns out the shower is not plumbed correctly and emits methane gas. It was so bad we had to open the door and window and let it air before going into the room. I covered my nose and mouth with a cloth when I went in. I only showered a few times because the gas smell was horrific.

subpar hotel
Power kept going out. Room was very tiny. Water was only cold in shower the first night. Second night the water finally got hot. Windows don’t give you much privacy as it’s a courtyard and you can see others across and vice versa. PS. There was a club next door and music was thumping until 4 am.

6/10 Good

Not overly impressed
I don't like writing bad reviews but there a lot of things that need to be said. First off, the bathroom had no fan or window to the outside. Consequently, it smelled damp and musty and that smell spread throughout the room. Whenever we were in the room, we kept the door and window open to try to air it out. Also, the lighting in the bathroom was completely inadequate. The light wasn't strong enough for my wife to do her makeup in the mirror and the light never penetrated to the shower area (it's behind a partial wall) so you essentially shower in the dark. There is no where in the room to hang the shower towels after showering. There are 2 hanging lights on each side of the bed that give minimal light. To read in bed, I had to use the flashlight on my phone. The hotel is supposed to be non smoking. I had to sign an agreement to not smoke in the hotel and was clearly told that smoking had to be done off premises. I'm a nonsmoker so I was happy about that rule. However, during the 3 days that we spent there, I saw 2 different sets of people smoking in the common area of the hotel in clear view of the staff who did nothing. Also, there is a nightclub a few doors down that play loud music till 2am. Not the hotel's fault but it made it hard to sleep at night. On a positive note, the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located within the old town so lots of churches and great restaurants. There is a rooftop terrace overlooking the street that we enjoyed at night.
