Nothing like other Wyndham properties
This hotel does not live up to what you should expect at a Wyndham. There are signs in the hotel indicating renovations are taking place but there is no evidence of ongoing work. Carpets are worn in hallways and rooms. One of the four ice machines in the hotel is broken. I tried to call down to the front desk for towels only to find my room had a house phone in it that was not only not plugged in-- but there was also no phone jack in the room. The motel advertises a pool and a fitness center- both of which I was prepared to use. The water in the pool was so cloudy I did not feel safe using it. The website (and signs in the hotel), states there is a fitness center. There is no fitness center. When I inquired, the front desk staff (who were very pleasant and apologetic) indicated new owners had started moving things around and the space previously used for the fitness center as well as the space previously used for the business center are now used for storage. They were unaware of any plans or timelines for renovation.
The best part of this motel is that it is attached to the Stamford Diner-- which was a wonderful find.
