6/10 Good

Good, with a few problems
The room was comfortable and large. I appreciated the free breakfast buffet with hot eggs and sausage and a waffle maker. The staff were all around very good! A few gotchas are: bathrooms need a refresh, the business center did not have a working printer though a printer was right there and I was told the computers were only for browsing - needs a printer, the exercise room, though small, was good enough, except tiles coming off the floor were a trip hazard and the treadmill program didn't work; internet kicks you off after not very long and you have to keep re-connecting to the wireless. However, I would stay there again.

Good location, but three bldgs
The location was great! Not far from town and easily accessible. The staff was nice. Our room was clean (except for coffee grinds on the table in our room). Breakfast had waffles, which was nice. The pool was chilly! But kiddo had fun. I didn't realize there were three buildings. We did a lot of walking back and forth, not staying in the main bldg.

2/10 Poor

Nightmare in Harper's Ferry
We booked a suite room with 1 king bed. Upon arrival I requested a higher floor room if possible. Not only I was given a room in the basement, but it wasn't a suite (just a standard room with a king bed and the room is next to the pool so there was a strong smell of chlorine in the room. I was thoroughly unsatisfied with our stay. Also the breakfast scene is pretty shameful too. All the food items were running low to none and constantly had to hunt down the breakfast attendant in order to ask for coffee, pancake batter, yogurt, juice and than wait around 30 minutes for them to show up. It was a total poop show. With the money they are charging, I was expecting better service from these folks. Not worth the stay here.

4/10 Fair

It’s as bad as the reviews say.
It’s old,but it can be old and clean. The whole place is dirty. Clumps of dust behind the treadmill. Cobwebs all over the brochure stands. Hallways don’t looked like they been vacuumed in months and is full of trip hazards and tears. Pool view suite. Dirty. We cleaned and sanitized it all before we brought our stuff in. The walls have what I assume is blood on them and I don’t even want to guess what was on the walls in the bathroom near the tp holder beside the mold on the door frame.requested our room get cleaned the next day and no one came. As a lot of other reviews there is definitely some moisture smell in the room that’s pretty gross. All of the outlets needed to be replaced because plugs just fall right out of them. I went to plug in the lamp since the plug was 3/4 of the way out, and it made a huge spark. It would cost like five dollars to replace all of the switches and outlets in that room, plus it’s across from the Maint shop. Door to pool just has residential bedroom lock so no security. Big gap around it that glows at night from the pool lights. Pool is not clean. Not that i would have went swimming but there was algae on the walls. I’m pretty sure the pumps were off because I didn’t see any movement in the water and No smell of chlorine. If you turned on that exhaust fan in the pool room, the rooms attached may not be so full of moisture. Maybe open the retractable roof once a day to let all of the humidity out.

6/10 Good

Lame breakfast
Hotel is fine and adequate for an overnight when checking out the local sites. However, the breakfast is extremely lame. They lack a choice of beverages (no juice machine), a choice of breads (other than slices of white bread), a choice of fruits or yogurts (there are none). Compared to the standard self-serve breakfasts at Best Western, Holiday Inn, Hampton, etc., this hotel breakfast would rank last on any comparison scale.

Decent Stay But Ragged Property
Overall, my stay here was not bad. Decent location to the national park and near to restaurants and gas. The staff was polite and the room sufficed. The problem is, this property is really worn out. Much of the furniture in the room and in the lobby are all pretty worn, the gym is in rough shape and overall the hotel looks like it hasn’t had an upgrade in well over 20 years. Also, there was no coffee in the morning or even in the evening in the lobby. It’s a little thing, but it goes along way.
