Hotel okay but watch the fine print
It’s an older hotel and looks it. It was clean enough, especially for a hotel that accepts pets. My biggest complaint is that after carefully searching hotels in the city that were “pet friendly”, then finding one that accepts a bigger dog, we received a precheck-in email that confused and upset me. I’m not sure if it was through the hotels.com or the hotel itself, but there was a specific clause that said we would be charged $250 if a pet was in our room. I tried to call the hotel to clarify and was told they do allow pets. But when I tried to ask about the emailed form I received specifically saying I would get charged $250, communication broke down or something and it seems like he basically hung up on me. I tried to find another number to call but couldn’t. I called the next morning and got the same guy, so I asked to speak to a manager. I honestly don’t know what he said exactly but I guess there was no one else to speak with. Since it was too late to cancel, we drove to the hotel hoping it would not be an issue. It was not.
However, people do need to be aware to always look when there is an asterisk because they do charge $20 per pet. We had no issue with this and understand, but don’t put that information using an asterisk. Just spell it out in the reservation.
I’m still not sure if the pre-check in form was emailed from the hotel itself or hotels.com but it caused a lot of confusion and stress. I’m also a little annoyed at the number of emails now flooding my inbox
