Terrible experience at the hotel. Immediately after we got our room key, we were stuck in an elevator for around 15 minutes in the pitch black. The call button for help did not work. We couldn’t get on the wifi. We had to call home to Canada for a friend to let the hotel front desk know we were stuck in the elevator. Hotel staff rescued us by prying the elevator doors open and helped us climb up a wall 5’ high. Hotel only offered us 10% discount to their all inclusive rate which we turned down.
Our room was dirty, 1/3 electricity sockets worked and was super finicky, the couch looked like it belonged in a homeless encampment, the shower handle fell right off every time we touched it, shower drain was clogged and flooded when we showered, super noisy from the other guests. We asked for an upgrade or an alternative room. They didn’t allow us to change rooms. We booked a free shuttle to the beach and was waiting for the shuttle. No shuttle came. Then we asked the front desk and they said shuttle not running today. They failed to mention shuttle would not run when we booked the shuttle the night before.
