2/10 Poor

Dystopian
I am a 68 year old retired Infantry Officer and have traveled all over North America , and been in combat zones overseas. The place was dystopian in a crime ridden area, and I was scared similar to being in Iraq . As a retired Infantry Officer trained in the business of assessing risk and how to deal with it, I was shocked. Seeing the dangerous situation at this motel , I opted to check out less than one hour after checking in.

We did not stay the pictures are not how the room looks. No security lock bathroom not updated looked dingy. Family did not feel safe. Granted the owner said he got it 9 months ago n doing updates little by little. We ended up going elsewhere.

2/10 Poor

I recently stayed at OYO Hotel at Chicago Rockford International Airport, IL and regrettably, it was one of the worst accommodations I have ever encountered. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this place is in desperate need of major renovations and a thorough cleaning. The room was rundown, with peeling paint, stained furniture and stained carpet. It was as if maintenance had been neglected for years. To make matters worse, I found several bugs crawling around the room as well as the walkway, which was both alarming and unacceptable. The overall cleanliness was appalling. The bathroom hadn’t been properly cleaned, with visible dirt and hair in the shower, clothing left behind from previous guests. This motel feels more like a health hazard than a place to rest. I would highly recommend avoiding this motel at all costs. It truly deserves to be condemned until it undergoes significant improvements in both hygiene and safety. Save your money and find a place that values guest comfort and wellbeing.

Don't stay here
There's probably about 100 rooms at the hotel with only 20 functional. Most of the rooms doors are wide open 24/7. Exterior walls are falling down. Definitely not a place for a family. Judging from the people that were there, it looks like a long term social services place.

8/10 Very good

Genuine concern for guests - so rare!
The hotel is in the midst of a desperately needed renovation, and the parts that are done are nice. But the kindness and concern of the manager (owner?) was remarkable - literally the best I’ve ever experienced. I would gladly overlook the hotel’s shortcomings just to come visit such a truly amazing person if I come back this way again.

First- the window to my room was busted up and taped together. Completely unsafe, and even worse given the type of people hanging around… against my better judgement, I walked into the room…Bed had stains and some kind of bug droppings. The air conditioner was broken in pieces and the curtains had burn holes in it. I went to the office, where the manager said oh that’s a budget room, let me show you the deluxe…. Listen… that “deluxe” room had some kind of wrapper on the end table, smelled like weed and chemical, and the clientele outside were not desirable. On to room one 3 (he really did not want to let me go)… the door didn’t lock and the air conditioner was dripping dirty water. It smelled like mold and bleach, and there just was a distinct funk to the room. I didn’t check in, didn’t stay, and they won’t even give me a refund. Guess not wanting to be trafficked isn’t a good reason to get your money back. (And yes I have photos)

Poor Condition and Uncleanly
This hotel is disgusting - There were dead roaches - the bathroom shower was filthy and honestly, I didn't feel safe at all. The property is in poor condition and is not clean or sanitary. I never even stayed - I immediately left and booked another hotel.

I never write anything poor but this was the worst Hotel I have ever been at. Waited Over 90 minutes just to get told that my room still isn’t ready, followed by running late for a wedding in town we decided to come back later. Once we came back late at night our room had no towels no pillows and no blankets and instead a gallon of antifreeze and BED BUG KILLER SITTING ON THE DRESSER. Do yourself a huge favor please take your hard earned money and stay anywhere else for your safety for you and your family. I hope you work hard on fixing all of these issues.

Property was filthy. Reserved a non-smoking room with 2 beds. Was put in two separate rooms that both smelled of cigarettes. Friends went to Love’s and paid for a shower instead of using the one in their room. They also slept in their car because their room was so nasty. They did not want to lie on that bed. Unsafe to walk around as there were loose screws and nails and other debris all over the walkway. Check in was at 1 but no one was in the lobby for a long time. Other guests stomping around and loudly arguing around 2am, one was banging on my door and jiggling the handle trying to get in. Luckily there was a chain to hold the door closed.

I did not get to stay. Im traveling to see my dying mother. I tried to check in and was told a soccer team came and there were no rooms. I had to leave to find somewhere else to stay. My wife had to call and go through a lengthy process to try to get a refund, very very frustrating

terrible experience
Terrible experience, a very dirty place, I didn't even finish the night, I could only stay for about three hours, I had to go elsewhere, the dirty room smelled of cigarettes, the bed was very uncomfortable, the bathroom was terrible, it had no towels. In short, a dirty place with a homeless inhabitant.
