A beautiful and compact city where everything is walkable and its colourful history is everywhere. Loads of great bars and fantastic restaurants but, most of all l was struck by the friendliness of everyone l met. Can't wait to return 🤗

A vibrant city that's good for a weekend visit plenty of restaurants but many serve the same menu so had to hunt for something different. Do your research if you are a foodie. A busy bar culture which was fun.
"The Novotel in Metz was one of the more expensive hotels we have stayed in on our European tour. It is not as classy as we had expected and the decor in the room was dated especially the textured white walls. The plugs in both the sink and shower did not drain well and smelt.
The bed was comfortable and pillows fluffy. There is an outside pool but it is very busy with children and not very big.
The price of the hotel was not reflected in the stay. The underground parking is shared and smells like a public toilet, payable at the time of leaving."
