As Regensburg is normally a lively student town, I enjoyed the peace and quiet in August. The town is so big, that even the tourist groups don't make any impact at all. You feel thrown into the dark age / middle age when looking at the buildings.

Unfortunately, it was raining the entire time we were there. Even so, there were ample things to do. I am surprised that so many things closed very early, however, that seems to be common all over Germany - this was my first trip.

"Nice hotel in good location for walking the city. Instructions for having room key in light socket to get electricity to work was not given at check in and caused some confusion. Front desk person came up to explain"
