Dhidhoofinolhu Island Hotels

An uninhabited island in a tropical atoll, Dhidhoofinolhu has barely been brushed by humanity. In fact, the entire Ari Atoll has a deliciously castaway atmosphere. These are the islands which grace a thousand brochures of paradise holiday destinations, but they are even more flawless in reality. Here, crystalline waters meet sashes of the whitest, finest sand, adorned with softly waving palm trees. It would be enough to simply string up a hammock and soak up the sun, but with some of the best whale shark diving in the world, this tranquil delight has plenty to get the adrenaline pumping too.

Things to see

This is a land of exclusive resorts, where the sea, sand and sky belong to you. You may think you’ve seen the sun set before, but just wait until you’ve seen the entire sky, from the heavens to the horizon, painted in burnished orange and deep Maldives blue. Far from the clamour and crowds of your average beach holiday, here you’ll be able to take in the unspoilt sea views from the comfort of your cabana or infinity pool. It won’t be long before you’re tempted into the blissfully warm waters of the Indian Ocean. To step up the action a little, head to the Dhidhoofinolhu Marina, where you can take a diving trip to see the bounty of manta rays and whale sharks – the marine stars of the Maldives. Beginners are well-catered for on Maamagili Island, while advanced divers can take a magical night dive at Thinfushi Beru Tila.
