If you like quiet time surrounded by flowers and greenery, then make a stop at Picton Foreshore in the heart of Picton. Our travellers also like this walkable area for its port. Want to stretch your legs a little more? Head to Picton War Memorial and Waitohi Recreational Reserve, both a short walk away.
Notable for its port, Picton features attractions such as Picton Foreshore and Picton Ferry Terminal. This welcoming city has something for everyone including sights like Picton Harbour and Edwin Fox.
Picton obviously has the ferry terminals and most traffic is passing through. But it's a good spot to take a boat trip on the Marlborough Sounds or to take the scenic Queen Charlotte drive to Havelock. And hikers can access the hikes around the Sound

Picton is a nice town, with lovely sub tropical scenery. A walk to the top of the hill behind the town via the Tirohanga track is recommended, and takes about 45 minutes up and 30 minutes down.

Lovely little town, the catamaran trip was awesome, we really enjoyed it and praise the staff for their advice, info and warm welcome. Picton has an excellent bakery and we enjoyed eating/drinking at the Thirsty Pig pub-restaurant.

A small place but very quaint and enough to do for a day or two. Relaxing, nice walks and good food. People are very friendly too and the views around the town are spectacular.

Fabulous town with so much to offer - stay a couple of days rather than just using as a base for the ferry. The Sounds and foreshore are wonderful

Picton is a lovely town, that goes right around the bay. Didn't realise how big it was until we had a drive around it.
