Don't miss the funicular ride up to the old castle, get the English tour, take some great photos of town from walls. Very much a studenty town, like living on campus! But beautiful old buildings, Heiliggeistkirche, old bridge. No English menus!😕

The castle is magnificent - a must. Funicular was fun and the ride to the top very steep. Remember it's chilly up there. Heaps of places to eat and drink.

The Student Jail was the most interesting sight. I also saw the castle, did not do the regular tour, but saw the apothecary museum as well as the big vat in the keg room. Lots of walking involved, and the cable car was not working at the time.

A fantastic, picturesque city that is a must visit for anyone looking for a break to a smaller city. That is both Wurzburg and Heidelberg visited and I very much enjoyed these historical gems away from the hustle and bustle of Munich or Berlin.

Hotel zum Ritter St. Georg

"The beds are extremely comfortable. The Wi-Fi and tv are sub-par, but we didn't stay at the beautiful and historical Ritter for the tv. The location, views, staff, breakfast, and surrounding dinner options are outstanding."
"Heidelberg It was a special experience looking down from the top of the mountain. It has a nice view to get a room toward the city. I recommend you to go to a sauna. The breakfast was good and the car parking was convenient. The staff is kind."
"Hotel is conveniently located next to the train station and area is very walkable. Didn't interact much with staff, as I did a self check-in/out. Rooms a nice and very clean.
Housekeeping is only by request, which I didn't mind. Didn't use the amenities.
For the price and location, I would stay with them again in a heartbeat. "
