The bathroom was gross. There was mold in the shower.

Amazing on every level!
The staff at the De Soto was amazingly friendly. From the person opening the door, the vehicle valets and the front desk staff. The rooms could not have been any cleaner, the bed was comfortable, and the view only enhanced the stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the heart of historic Savannah.

Room and beds were tiny, hotel is extremely noisy, bell in town rings at the crack of dawn. If you are wanting a comfortable quiet hotel, this one is not it. We questioned the cleanliness as well and the staff was probably the most unprofessional we've ever experienced and we travel a lot. We did not get much sleep the entire 3 days we were there. We will never stay in this hotel again. There is no way this is a 4 star Hotel. We would rate it as a 2.

Wouldn’t stay here again
I specifically booked a room with a balcony - We got one, but due to the construction you couldn’t actually go out on it. When I called to change rooms they were all booked and they didn’t offer any other suggestions. The TV didn’t work and the Ice Machine didn’t work on our floor either. On NYE the Valet was gone by 11PM.

Poor 2.0
Terrible checkin, noisy rooms and overpriced for the run down condition.

Undisclosed, Loud Construction on Property
The hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable. Most of the employees were very kind and helpful. The view from our room was great. However, the hotel was undergoing some very loud and disruptive construction that is not disclosed on their website, nor are they warning guests about prior to their stay. We like to sleep in a bit on vacation, and were woken up to loud banging at 7am the first morning and 730 am the second morning (which was a saturday). The hotel told me the project might be going on another month, and I told them they needed to warn guests if nothing else, however I am not sure that they will - hence my reason for writing this! We were offered free parking and a free breakfast - which was equivalent to not even half the cost of one night, but better than nothing. We paid extra for a room with a balcony and could not enjoy it due to the constant banging and drilling directly below us.

Not as nice as our previous stay at The Desoto..
First, the entrance was blocked by cranes; the check in clerk sure didn't show much of the charm or southern hospitality we expected. In our room we couldn't access our balcony; the mattress was saggy; at 3:00 we were awakened by girls coming in from a girls night out and had to listen to their drunken laughing and loud talk for most of an hour; finally when we checked out it was raining and the valets had no umbrellas, we had to wait in the rain while the valet tried to get the automatic trunk to open so we could load our own luggage .. Very disappointed..
