I wasn't very sure when I booked this place for my 3-night stay in a capsule dorm, but with the budget I was on, it seemed like my best option at the time. Was I glad I made that decision? Absolutely!
First off, I used to live around the block a few years back, so I'm quite familiar with the area. This hostel stands right across the street from Lat Phrao MRT station, and there's a newly open supermarket inside the station now, so there's a plus. This isn't the main tourist area in Bangkok, but getting around to anywhere accessible by trains is easy. Taxis are abundant as well.
The front sign of this hostel has a different name, so when I walked into the reception I was half expected to be told I was at the wrong place. But the staff checked me in without fuss.
This is my second time staying in a capsule dorm. And I was pleasantly surprised to see that the capsule here is quite spacious; I could sit on the mattress and my head barely touched the ceiling, and I had enough room to toss and turn. The sheets and duvet are spotlessly clean. Shower rooms show signs of wear, but seemed to be properly clean everyday.
The weekend I was there the whole place was very quiet with so little guests, so it felt like I had all the facilities for myself. Had it been a busier time, my experience might not have been so pleasant.
I will return here again the next time I need a budget room in Bangkok.
