Great stay with friends!
The hotel is beautiful -- it is a refurbished 16th century villa. There are two great restaurants on the first floor (unaffiliated with the hotel, but very convenient). The staff is very helpful and friendly. But, for us, the best part was the breakfast area. As we had children with our group, hanging out at the rooftop bar was not an option. But we were able to hang out with our group of friends on the couches in the evening before or after dinner and it was fabulous -- a beautiful courtyard with a garden in the middle and an open roof. The hotel may be rated a 3 star, but it felt like a 4 star or better. I would love to go again.

Sadly not great...
So sad to have to give this hotel a negative review. The building itself is historic and beautiful, but the rooms are dark (no real windows) and very small. The bathroom is separated by a curtain... Ek! The shower was not designed correctly so water runs out on the floor and soaked our stuff. And lastly, there were cockroaches at night. I know it’s an old building but it was tough to sleep with them running around. The staff was kind and gave me a surprise in my room for my bday. Breakfast was good.

Extremely good hotel
Friendly and professional staff. Hotel is extremely quiet in spite of having one of the best high end Mexican restaurants in the atrium directly below the room (Azulejo Historico). Premises are kept spotless and the rooftop bar and pool area provides a wonderful overhead view of the historic quarter. Location is convenient to many sights.

Would Definitely Stay Again
Loved staying at this hotel. Everyone was so nice! Ever time I went to the front desk they were super helpful (and spoke English really well, very helpful when my terrible Spanish failed, but they were also very patient with letting me at least try). One night I was trying to call our next hotel and was having the hardest time connecting. The front desk agent offered to help and went so far as to using her personal cell to call and confirm some information for us. Breakfast was delicious! We had both the included buffet (really good variety) as well as other options for purchase. If you’re not sure what’s included with your rate, call the hotel and ask. We also ate at Azul Downtown, the restaurant in the main courtyard, and had a great meal. The courtyard is stunning with big trees full of candles, which someone must painstakingly light every night. At first, I thought our room was quite dark. The only windows were in the door and a frosted window in the bathroom. Turned out to be a non issue for a few reasons. CDMX is an amazing city and we spent very little daylight hours in our room. I never needed my eye mask when I wanted to sleep in. The lightning is really well done and we could make it quite bright with still a warm feeling. The hotel’s location: both historic and modern. Though it gets very busy during the day and there are clubs at night, in our room, never felt it got loud.

Good 6.0
Stayed on a saturday and sunday night. saturday night the music from downstairs was super loud until 1am... then there was someone throwing up for the next hour or so... not sure if this was my neighbor or just a guest to the bar/ restaurant downstairs. Also- when you take a shower the water went all over the room.. around the bed... I had to mop it up. They also forgot to give me a wake up call and schedule a car to pick up for the airport. The food was great, pool super nice. Visually stunning space.

Very Good 8.0
Quirky and charming
The hotel had a very unique and lovely design. The included breakfast was also very good. My one issue with the hotel was the low lighting conditions in the room. I understand this is part of their design, but I need to see stuff in the room.
