The Gateway Hotel
"Very happy with the accommodation, food."
Station Inn
"A family of 4 we stayed in Troutbeck, it was a really large room and bathroom for four. Lovely extra touches like tissues, room diffuser and body lotion. It was a little hot as it’s in the attic but it was the hottest day of the year ! We drove and there’s a massive car park but it would not be an easy walk uphill from the station."
Stonecross Manor Hotel
"First time at this lovely hotel, it was very clean and the staff were lovely, and very helpful, the pool was very welcome in the present heatwave. There was a nice choice at breakfast, all fresh local produce, would definitely return."
Watermill Inn & Brewing Co
"Great location for Windermere, and the food was excellent. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely return if in the area."
Riverside Hotel
"There was a wonderfully helpful lady called Debs on the reception"
Hare & Hounds
"The bedroom and bathroom were lovely, the breakfasts amazing, the staff always happy to help and the location just off the A590 was perfect for exploring the whole Lake District. My only rejoinder was that the stairs to the rooms are a little challenging for someone like me who is mobility impaired. Additional banisters and/or handles would greatly help but I managed overall and we were very happy with our stay. Evening meals were exceptional too. I would rank the Hare and Hounds in Levens as being in the top 1% of bed and breakfast inns I have stayed in out of maybe 150 visited in he past 5 years. Thoroughly recommended!"
Gilpin Bridge Inn
"Stayed here one night on our way home to Scotland. The property is easy to find with plenty free parking. Easy check in with helpful, friendly staff. The room was very clean, tea and coffee in the room, everything you need. We had a meal here in the evening and it was delicious. Really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Gilpin Bridge Inn."
The Lakeland Kendal Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by BW
"It was so nice very friendly staff nice and clean see you again x"
Newlands Farm Stables
"It was a pleasure staying here, and I would definitely come back. The place was exceptionally clean—honestly one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The only downsides were the pillows and the bed. The pillows were too firm and thick, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Overall, a lovely place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it to others!"

This way, if prices drop or new rooms become available, you could be among the first to know, making it easier to secure a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you save on your stay in a Kendal hotel. For those in search of a unique experience, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you to find a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be pricier; however, thanks to Kendal's superb public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even some lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
