Downtown San Antonio
San Antonio's historic city centre is where cowboy boots meet colonial charm along the famous River Walk. This cypress-lined waterway winds past outdoor cafés and live music spots, while the Alamo's weathered limestone walls stand as a powerful reminder of Texas history. Culture buffs can explore Spanish missions, catch a show at Aztec Theatre, or browse handcrafted treasures at Market Square. Getting around is a breeze with pedestrian-friendly streets and colourful water taxis connecting major sights. You'll find everything from boutique hotels in restored historic buildings to modern high-rises with river views. The food scene delivers big Tex-Mex flavours alongside upscale steakhouses, perfect after a day of shopping at La Villita.

Southtown
Southtown blends San Antonio's Hispanic heritage with a thriving arts scene. The Blue Star Arts Complex anchors the creative district with galleries and studios hosting monthly First Friday art walks. Victorian mansions line tree-lined streets in the King William Historic District, showcasing stunning 19th-century German-influenced architecture. The area embraces Mexican-American traditions through cultural celebrations like Dia de los Muertos. Authentic taquerias mix with farm-to-table restaurants along walkable streets with riverside views. Historic bed & breakfasts in restored Victorian homes offer charming accommodation for travellers. The San Antonio River provides a scenic backdrop with paved trails perfect for morning strolls or evening bike rides.

La Cantera District
La Cantera District combines thrills and luxury in San Antonio. Visitors can enjoy roller coasters at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, shop at upscale boutiques, or perfect their swing at La Cantera Golf Club. The limestone architecture and manicured grounds offer a polished escape from city centre. Dining ranges from upscale Tex-Mex to steakhouses, primarily in shopping centers and resorts. Though public transport is limited, rental cars and ride-sharing services provide easy access. Most guests stay at luxury resorts featuring full-service spas and championship golf courses.

Dignowty Hill
Dignowity Hill charms visitors with its collection of Victorian homes sporting ornate porches and gingerbread trim. This historic San Antonio area offers a glimpse into 1850s architecture without the tourist crowds. Mature oak trees create cool, shady streets perfect for leisurely walks past well-preserved landmarks. The area maintains its quiet, residential character with few dining spots within its boundaries. Travellers typically stay in converted Victorian bed-and-breakfasts that showcase period details. Getting around requires a car or ride-sharing service, as public transit options are limited in this authentic slice of San Antonio heritage.
Denver Heights
Denver Heights offers a peek into authentic San Antonio living, away from the tourist hustle. This historically African American area showcases local charm through small parks with mature oak trees and family-owned eateries serving soul food and Mexican cuisine. The Carver Community Cultural Centre celebrates the area's rich cultural heritage with community events and performances. Budget-friendly motels and inns make this a smart choice for travellers watching their wallets. While public transit is limited, street parking is plentiful for those with cars. Denver Heights puts you within easy reach of the Alamodome, Alamo, and San Antonio River without the city centre price tag.

Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk
"Loved it there. Free breakfast, free dinner, and 3 free alcoholic drinks a night. You can't beat that. It saved us from spending money on eating out. The rooftop pool was great, it could have been cleaner for sure. There was hair floating in it EVERYWHERE and you could see the oils floating on top from everyone's sunscreen and tanning oils. Other than that, the location is great, the building is great, the staff is great. We would definitely stay again."

"We were excited to experience a stay at the Historic Crockett Hotel. Everything was excellent and the proximity to other attractions was perfect."
JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa
"From the moment we arrived the staff was wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean, the amenities were excellent. We brought our toddler and 10 year old and they had a blast at the waterpark. We ordered room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entirety of our stay and the food was always hot, fresh and most importantly delicious. The kids and adults loved the pizza from the pizza restaurant downstairs as well. The cleaning staff made sure we always had fresh towels and it was appreciated. The bellman that helped us with our luggage cart at the end of the stay was so nice, he heard my toddler ask for chocolate chip cookies and he ran to go get him some for the drive home. Thank you so much Arthur! We are looking forward to our next stay!"

Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Airport
"We visit San Antonio about 4 times a year and we will always stay at the Drury Inn. It is convenient, clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The evening drinks and snacks are always good, and the breakfast is great. (wish they would cook the sausage a little longer...but I like mine well done) It is well worth the money! Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!"
