Terrible service from Hotels.com and Lafodia
No Staff made the first part of our stay terrible. It was clear the moment we got there that they had significant issues. Rooms not cleaned for 3 days. Breakfast was a war zone, you had to clear your own table and hunt for cutlery to get the meagre servings on offer. Hotel not answering the phone. It did slowly improve during our stay and i would hope it will be back up to speed soon. The hotel management realised they had a problem and at least were honest about it. I think the hotel will recover and this was a one off as the setting and island is great. What was more dissapointing was the truly atrocious service from Hotels.com. Who refused point blank to get involved. So we were left in a situation were the hotel said, you are booked through Hotels.com, we will give you a partial refund, but it must go through Hotels.com and Hotels.com refused to be engaged as the hotel would not answer the phone!!!! Having been a gold member of Hotels.com for a few years, I am used to there appaling service levels. How they get away with it is beyond me. I will write to ABTA but i guess that will be a waste of time as Hotels.com doesnt appear to be regulated.

I liked the location and the hotel is quite nice. What i didn't like is: - at arrival they have assigned us a lower grade room then the Intimate Premium room we paid for. - The room was dirty, bed undone, milk carton open in the room, bathroom with towels and robes previously used on the floor. Next to the bed there was a dead cockroach with a glass on top of it. - I have complaint and received a room mostly identical in the end with what i paid for after 2 hours wait, however the room was not cleaned daily and if it was cleaned it consisted of making the bed and adding toiletries in bathroom.. not actually cleaning the room or changing towels. Overall really bad experience considering this trip was made with the idea in mind to ask my girlfriend to marry me.

Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend
The island of Lopud itself is stunning, with plenty of amazing restaurants. The resort is set on pretty grounds and in a great position for swimming etc. Overall, we had a lovely stay and the staff were all very friendly and serviced our needs well, incluing the spa facility. Unfortunately, due to the impact of COVID, they were short of cleaners and this meant that we only had our room quickly given the once-ish over a few times. The breakfast buffet wasn't great either, often without full food offerings and not the tastiest of options for the British pallet, although the fruit and yoghurts were nice. All said, we would go back and we do recommended. The staff did all they could for us during their stay, given the impact of the pandemic. Only other advice is that they could do with a general shop on-site.

Amazing hotel
Great hotel , island lovely , huge issue was the staff. They are unhelpful, I am still waiting for a dental kit. There was also no iron. The worst part they did not clean our room. We went out for the day hoping we coming back to a nice clean room. They did not visit at ALL. There is NO GYM.
