It was clean. Bedroom was comfortable. It is near the bus station and not that far from the train station. We only saw people at the reception on the very last day. The check-in was weird, because we had to call someone to give us a pin code to open a locker with our key, and I think that should be managed with email or chat, if guests are arriving late in the night. In our room the wifi was inexistent. Not everyone in the reception (when there is someone) speak other than german.

We had a very short stay here for two nights for a wedding - the staff were lovely and really friendly and helpful. I lost my key and they went above and beyond to help me find it (which we did!). So thankful for all their help! After a full day of travel it was great to find there were a number of restaurants minutes away from the venue. Overall a great stay, and would definitely stay again if we ever visit the area.

Haven't been to Leimen in years. Heidelberg was booked solid so decided to take the streetcar the on a recent visit. I remember zum Baeren as a pretty posh place, but now it's a bit stark. Certainly clean and with a nice and helpful young Russian lady at the counter, but the rooms are quite bare. In the past there was a very good German restaurant, now it's Greek. The hotel breakfast is okay but for a German place it's pretty sparse. Will go back to Central in Heidelberg next time... right across from the Hauptbahnhof. Not quite as nice but much better located.

Clean hotel but had a few problems
The day we checked in, we had to wait over 45 minutes for someone to come. There was a note by the front door that had a phone number to call to get someone to come check us in but we had no phone to call from. So we waited, and waited, and waited and finally a girl showed up but didn't know how to check us in. Then the internet didn't work in our room and we spoke to the front desk numerous times and were given many many excuses but not solutions. In the end, the one lady actually lied to us saying she moved the booster to try and get it working but the other front desk staff told us that they were too afraid to touch anything so they were going to call the internet provider. Don't like being mislead. Not having internet is a big deal when you are travelling and don't have a data plan. Wasn't impressed we had to spend evenings sitting on the staircase between the first and second floors to get access to the internet. We couldn't even sit in the lobby because they locked it up at 8:00 pm every night.

Fantastic for hiedelberg
In the town of Leimen but close enough to Hiedelberg for you to get there easily. We drove in and parking was free. Take the tram for 15 min and you are in Hiedelberg for access to everything. The staff is friendly and will give you their advice on where to go. The Greek place right next to the hotel is fantastic. Come hungry.

Hotel is in best part of town with lovely old worl
Booking was very easy on line, and hotel position perfect for transport on tram or bus. parking facility a big plus too. Staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Rooms practical with comfortable beds and bedding. Breakfast was lovely with a large variety of cereal/fruit/cheese/yoghurt etc Only complaint is the size of the soap that is provided, which is so small it is a joke and falls apart with the first contact with water All in all we had a lovely stay and would recommend it highly

Great Place to Stop and Economical Too
We stayed here for one night to break a long motorway journey. The hotel was an easy drive from the motorway. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The full breakfast was great. One small disadvantage was that the curtains did not fully cover the window. We used clothes pegs to stretch them out. A big advantage was that there was a large IKEA store nearby with a restaurant. Our three course dinner that night was the least expensive of our whole trip.

Hotel Baren in Leimen
Overnight stay and great price for a clean and simple hotel. Great breakfast. Only minus for stay was the parking. Because there is a restaurant adjacent to the hotel, it was difficult to find parking during eating hours.

I would give full grade if Wi-Fi worked properly
The hotel is good, such as the city. It is a good option if you do not mind to stay a bit far from Heidelberg (you can reach there by public transport easily). There are good options for restaurants nearby. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi did not work in our bedroom despite the attempts of the kind staff.

Excellent People
This hotel is far from the center but there is tram station very close to the hotel. Hotel staff was very helpful & they would go out of there way to help you. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Reasonably priced hotel close to the tram line
Once we found this hotel, we discovered that it was quite easy to hop on the tram and get to the main station and into the city. There were two or three eateries nearby. The room itself was basic and clean, wooden flooring made it feel cool, not so good in early March, but we felt it was reasonably priced.

Like an apartment - great!
We were beat when we arrived after a long day driving, but found a parking space easily and were greeted by an extremely pleasant young lady at the front desk who spoke perfect English and recommended the restaurant next door. It was pretty good, by the way, a Greek place, but they don't take Visa and their special plate for two was more than enough for a four---far too much. We had an enormous room (girlfriend said it was an apartment!) ---there was even a comfortable couch---with a view of an old German town out the back, and a large bathroom too (only a shower). Quite idyllic. The rooms have obviously been recently redecorated---new laminate on the bedroom floors; new fixtures in the bathroom. Wi-Fi connection is a bit spotty---the signal seems very week---but it worked long enough to do what we wanted to do. This was only a one-night stay on our way to Munich. The neighbourhood around the hotel looks most interesting, but we had no time to investigate. Breakfast was typical European; good value for the 7 or 8 euros it cost.

Walking distance to old town. Lovely little hotel although parking is a bit limited as it is shared with the hotel restaurant.
