Great location and staff
The staff was awesome at the hotel. Very friendly and welcoming. The room is very spacious and has the old architecture of the era that it was built. There is some noise from above if you are not on the 3rd floor. Free wine and snacks in the evening was a bonus. Location was excellent and you can walk anywhere you need to in the city.

Excellent all the way!!! 5 star service!!!
Dominic from the office was super amazing!!! All hotels should have Dominic!! The check in was excellent as was the professional gentlemen that checked us in. Served cheese and crackers and wine. Ive traveled all over the world and the 2 bedroom suite was in the top 3 Ive ever stayed!! I could live there! River view, no noise, klondike bars, and exceptional service I loved this hotel!!

Dirty
Not sure where all the amazing reviews are coming from. Check in service was great. Everything else - ehh. Room was dirty- human hair, dirt and dust everywhere. Bathroom floor was just gross. Tables and surfaces dusty and appeared to have been wiped with dirty cloths. Bedspreads were white - dingy and had stains. Rug in living room dingy, walls had drips on them - from spilled drinks. Furniture worn, and dingy witH many stains. The great detail of being in a place built in 1892- like the 6 inch baseboards... not enjoyable since they were dirty. I could not appreciate anything except the check in service and location. A lot of $ for dirty.

Love the location and the rooms , the only problem is the sound, you can join in on the conversation next door if you wanted to , it’s that clear, and if someone is above you, you will hear every step taken, day or night !

very nice
It was a wonderful hotel, with great service and an excellent location. The walls are a bit thin, and the hotel is near a busy area. Plus we shared a wall with a bachelorette party. So the stay might be a bit louder than is ideal.

Always the best stay on the river...
Probably my 3rd or 4th stay since last February. Can not imagine staying anywhere else if you are wanting to stay in the historic district and on the river. The rooms are amazing and spacious. The location is within walking distance of everything. But most of all the service can not be beat. Dominic took great care of us... even remembered me from my previous stays, feels like visiting family now. The turn down service and touches like the after dinner desserts are a bonus.

Big rooms — each has a kitchen and living room — made it easier to travel with an infant. Some are renovated, others aren’t, but some were getting gutted when we left (Jan 2020). Location is good, but nearly all hotels in Savannah are convenient. This is near the river walk, and we didn’t spend much time there because it felt more like the Jersey shore. We walked everywhere, mostly into town and along Broughton and the many squares. All rooms open to the outside, there is no direct entry to the lobby. This can be annoying when the weather is bad. The morning coffee and evening wine/cheese reception is nice, and we didn’t partake much in those since we wanted to get our. The nightly Klondike bar is fine, another item we didn’t really need.

Beautiful, historic hotel with an amazing staff!
Despite a rocky start, they made the trip fantastic! We got into town early and had hoped we could check in early. We were told the room was not ready yet, but they’d call my cell when it was. We walked around town and waited until 4 before heading back (check in is at 3). The room was still not ready. It seems one of the cleaning staff didn’t show that day. We were offered wine and breakfast passes as the room wasn’t ready until after 4:30. They made it up to us and the room (suite) was amazing! The service was incredible and breakfast was very good. I would definitely go back. It’s a very unique hotel that you can feel the history in. The ice cream at night was a nice treat as was the wine and cheese happy hour in the lobby. Only a visit from Hank would have made the stay even more enjoyable.
