We arrived at 11pm, told we'd have to use the online check in process as the staff clock off at 10. On a Saturday night. In a hotel. Come on...
The check in machine did not recognise a UK postcode so we spent 15 mins trying to get the information in before having to call the staff out to let us in (we couldn't get past the door due to it needing a code). Imagine how much easier that would have been with staff at a desk?!
Rooms do not use a key, instead, they use a code. Style and fad over any kind of substance. Just use a key / card.
We've been on the road for 20 days, and stayed in 20 hotels in 10 different countries and this is the most problematic of all - we expected a lot better from a chain hotel on a weekend.
