Good location but slightly tired
Rooms are a little tired and quite noisy. Very close to the light rail for easy access around the city. Awesome breakfast.

The Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour is a little outdated, or at least the room I stayed in was. There was no desk to work from, only a round table. The bathroom was dated, with shower over, but no bath plug. Blockout blind was difficult & slow to operate. Bed was comfortable.

Awesome Hotel & Crew
Great hotel and location. Can’t thank enough the team who work there. One thing is the great hotel and surroundings, but this is nothing without the entire team and their commitment. It’s like a family and home…I will be back

Magnificent location but!!!!!
My wife has cancer and I had planned this special trip since December 23. The location was brilliant, the staff were fabulous, the breakfasts, bar and restaurant were terrific but I was very disappointed in some matters. The travellators were working some of the time which made things difficult getting to & from ground to the first floor where reception & the restaurant were. It wouldn’t have been that big an interference except the 4 lifts weren’t operating at capacity with one lift out the entire time we were there. The longest wait time to get up or down got to 12 minutes for us, eventually cramming into lifts with some airline staff. This was not pleasant. The room I paid extra for with a view of the bay would have been superb except for the bloody great crane blocking out a fair portion of the scenery. There is construction taking place everywhere and we were unaware of it until the day of arrival. This should have been made apparent a long time before check in (see photo attached). The fireworks for the Fringe Festival would have been beautiful except for the CFMEU crane in the way. The Novotel Management shoujd of been transparent with this matter. The pool, just plain embarrassing for a 4.5 star hotel. The room itself was nice but you seriously need to offer two pillows high & firm and two pillows low & soft. Four besser block pillows make for a damn sore neck in the morning with no sleep. There were other things but these were the main gripes that spoilt our stay.

Offered an upgrade - $40. Another family member was GIVEN the upgrade - same floor - no charge! Upgrade was a misnomer - the room offered was 3 star at best - and, as for 'ocean view' - a view of the construction site with a bit of the Darling Harbour basin was not as the receptionist described. The rooms are old and tired.
Very slow checkin. 5 receptionists - 3 on one screen.
