Clean and tidy, building had character.

8/10 Very good

Old time pub quite dark, looking past that into accommodation, comfortable clean with an ensuite, no toiletries except hand soap Tea and coffee facilities and a toaster Pleasure to have stayed 😊

6/10 Good

Big enough room, great modern and clean bathroom, kitchen area needed a good scrub

10/10 Exceptional

The people were friendly. Gave us an off street park so our bike were safe. The room was basic but clean, comfortable bed and really warm. The room was serviced on the second day which was unexpected but lovely to have clean towels. Excellent location in the middle of town. Not flash but great value and I would certainly recommend it. We enjoyed our stay

10/10 Exceptional

Probably the best value accommodation I've ever stayed in. Single room is compact which means you can get it nice and toasty on a cool winter night. Bed is comfortable, you get a full-sized fridge, plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate, decent sized flat screen TV, good shower in the en-suite and a nice, friendly welcome. Not to mention it's smack in the middle of town for convenience with loads of on-street parking right at the door. Absolutely perfect for the solo traveler.

Things are old, which is fine. But they could be maintained a bit better.

Charming
I recommend this traditional country pub. Lovely spacious room. Great bathroom. Friendly staff. Views. Shared balcony. Shared kitchen. I suggest you phone to confirm last minute bookings as the room I booked had been let between booking and when I got there.

First floor Double room was accessed by a well-worn staircase with grubby carpet, upstairs from pub & gaming-room. Room was adequate for our needs. Price is very reasonable. Great location. Have to park car on street. Stayed a Saturday night and was awakened at frequent intervals by drunken revellers on the street below. Wld recommend for a one-night stay.

We arrived at this hotel to find our booking non-existent, the initial staff member rude & abusive & the building in a run down state - we await a refund from wotif.com

Hotel was cold and unfriendly. Limited pillows and blankets with no heating. No bar or restaurant. Very unloved building for a Heritage listed building in bad need of a lot of TLC

8/10 Very good

good price for quick stopover. Accessible room/shower for my son was helpful checkin good. Not very clean, fridge dirty, dusty shelves etc. No plug on shelf for appliances. No ventilation. Window would have opened a little above the main street.

Not value for money
Very old decor. Old sheets. Hotel smelled of cooking oil. I bit more attention to cleaning would have been good, e.g. the exeplair duct in the bathroom was thick with grime. For this level of room I would have expected to pay $60 - $85, not $105.

Web site is totally out of date. Tried to book online twice, unsuccessful. Tried emailing with booking, only to get a ‘thank you for your email’ response. Tried phoning, no joy. Because the site and comments seemed ‘Heritage’ persevered and booked Xpedia. The hotel is rundown and tired but has the potential to be a great stopping off point enroute to the bike trails and points south. Needs to lift their game with overseas tourism picking up

Liked the check in before 9.unfortunately new managers did not check for bookings online made the day before.so according to them we did not have a booking and they would not check. At 8pm they had a room $22 dearer which we had to pay.bad net tv reception.old food in freezer box.In the padt we had spent extra on food and drink but not this time

Not really up to scratch
This stay was not great. It appeared that staff had completely forgotten to clean the bathroom as the previous occupants toiletries were still in evidence on the shower floor. Black mould around the shower. No working light in the bathroom… the list goes on. We wouldn’t stay here again.

You definitely get what you pay for here. I went for the cheapest option in their backpacker/hostel selection and ended up staying in a small building out the back, rather than in the main hotel. It was a bit dirty/dusty and I had to sweep the floor myself, but it was a safe place to stay with a lock, comfy bed, and basic utilities. The pub next door was very rowdy at night though. I also didn't interact with staff at all except for when I arrived, which was a little confusing since I didn't know the pub was also the check-in desk. Overall it was fine but I probably wouldn't stay again, not even for the price of being the cheapest room in Geraldine.

I guess for what we paid it was ok. Typical old style pub accom. Rooms very basic. Jug didn’t work, was replaced. Bathroom could have been cleaner, dust on skirt boards, fan made awful noise, No iron, only saying this as we travelled for a wedding. Asked for a receipt at end and fella didn’t seem to know what I was talking about. Got there in the end.
