Stroll down elegant Avenue de Verdun, where designer boutiques and jewellery ateliers hide behind Belle Époque facades. The famous Promenade des Anglais beckons just steps away with its stunning beaches and Casino Ruhl waiting for the lucky. Window shopping here is practically an Olympic sport with a side of people-watching. Getting around couldn't be easier with nearby tram lines and excellent walkability throughout the district. When hunger strikes, upscale brasseries and sophisticated wine lounges await, though your wallet might feel a bit lighter afterwards. Accommodation options lean towards boutique hotels in historic buildings where marble bathrooms and concierge service come standard.

Quartier du Port
Quartier du Port blends 18th-century charm with Mediterranean magic along Nice's waterfront promenade. Colourful historic buildings house seafood restaurants where you can dine with views of traditional fishing boats bobbing in the harbour. Stroll the pedestrian walkway for breathtaking sea vistas, or explore Place Garibaldi and the narrow cobblestone streets that showcase the area's fishing village roots. The area comes alive at night with restaurants and cafés creating a vibrant social scene. Getting around is easy with nearby tram connections and highly walkable streets. Stay in boutique hotels housed in converted historic buildings for an authentic experience that balances working port life with holiday vibes.

Carabacel
Carabacel offers a peaceful hillside retreat from Nice's tourist bustle while keeping you close to the action. Art lovers can lose themselves at the Musée National Marc Chagall, home to the world's largest collection of the artist's biblical works. Belle Époque villas and modern apartments line the tree-shaded streets, creating a gorgeous backdrop for your daily wanderings through this historic area. The area features intimate bistros serving authentic Niçois cuisine that won't break the bank. While shopping options are limited, you're just a short bus ride or scenic walk from city centre Nice and its Mediterranean beaches. The steep terrain requires decent walking shoes but rewards you with stunning city views.

Musicians Quarter
Musicians Quarter in Nice delivers a melody of cultural delights on pedestrian-only medieval streets. Wander past warm ochre buildings where street performers play against ancient stone walls. Art lovers can explore intimate galleries and craft boutiques tucked into historic archways, then pause in pocket-sized squares where impromptu concerts unfold. Charming bistros serve local Niçois specialities like socca between browsing sessions. Boutique hotels in converted historic buildings offer personalised service within walking distance of the Mediterranean coast. The quarter's pedestrian nature makes exploring on foot ideal, with tram stops just minutes away.

Nice City Centre
Nice City Centre dazzles with Belle Époque grandeur and Mediterranean magic around every corner. Stroll the iconic Promenade des Anglais for breathtaking sea views or lose yourself in the Old Town's maze of cobblestone streets. The buzzing Place Masséna serves as the neighborhood's colourful heart, while nearby beaches invite you to soak up the Riviera sun. Tramway stations connect you effortlessly to all major attractions, though this walkable district begs to be explored on foot. You'll find everything from cosy cafés serving socca to elegant boutiques along Avenue Jean Medecin. Accommodation range from charming historic buildings to luxury waterfront properties.

Nice and related destinations
Between the azure Mediterranean and sun-drenched hills, the Promenade des Anglais invites barefoot walks past Belle Époque buildings. Place Massena's chequerboard plaza buzzes with locals sipping pastis at outdoor cafés. The Old Town's narrow lanes lead to flower and fish markets where vendors call out in a musical Niçois accent. At the Matisse Museum, vibrant canvases reveal why artists have long been seduced by the light. Climb Castle Hill for panoramic views that explain why the coastline earned its 'Azure' nickname. After swimming at Plage Beau Rivage, sample socca – a crispy chickpea pancake that tastes best eaten hot from paper wrapping while watching the sunset paint the bay gold.

Hotel West End Nice Promenade
"The outstanding staff and concierge Silvio and Yefym were great!"
Albert 1'er Hotel Nice, France
"Très bien positionné, très bel hôtel"
Hotel Busby
"I enjoyed the breakfast and accommodating 7 - 10 am time range. Although the property was clean, there was a trail of brown ants in my room. No other available room for a switch. I did not dare to unpack contents of my suitcase. When I reported the issue, the front desk rep offered a spray bottle but had no pest control liquid., He had vinegar for me to try to spray that helped but it was stressful & exhausting at 10 pm. It took 2 nights to figure out a solution."
Radisson Blu Hotel, Nice
"Breakfast great, right by beach and airport. Rooftop pool amazing!"
Hôtel Vacances Bleues Le Royal
"Hôtel très bien situé et tout était parfait."
Nice Pam Hotel
"Good staff clean room"
Le Meridien Nice
"We stayed at Le Meridian for 11 nights, two adults and one child. The best part of this stay was where the hotel was located. Beach was across the street, Starbucks a 5 min walk, good restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, markets, and designer boutiques. Ubers are able to pick you up directly in front of the hotel, trains and public transportation are also nearby. It was really hot during our stay. The AC was ok. It could have been better considering it’s a four star hotel. Housekeeping missed our room a few times and we had to address this with the front desk. I do want to give kudos to Nila, room attendant. She is very friendly and pleasant to talk to. She responded right away and took care of our room when it was skipped by another housekeeper. Very friendly and always had a smile on her face. She made our stay more pleasant. Overall we had a good time at the property. I do recommend and would be back."
Hôtel Saint Georges
"comfortable stay, close to the seafront, railway station and trams"
Mercure Nice Promenade Des Anglais
"Room are good facing sea."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Nice
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Nice is during January, February, and November, when hotel prices are typically lower. For a fulfilling experience of the city’s key historical and cultural landmarks, an ideal stay would be at least 3 to 4 days. This duration allows visitors to explore a variety of attractions, including museums, charming cafes, and the picturesque beach, while enjoying the vibrant shopping and dining scenes. Travellers on a budget can take advantage of the great value for money during these months, as prices may drop further, making it an even more appealing time to discover Nice's rich heritage and culture.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Nice, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may come across discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and exclusive promotions, ensuring you don’t miss potential savings. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so if rooms become available or prices drop, you’re more likely to see these updates first and seize the opportunity for a spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Nice. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, helping you to secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Opting for accommodation closer to key attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it frequently comes with higher expenses. For those seeking more economical options, it’s wise to consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and accessibility to your desired destinations. You might also look into independent hotels situated further afield, which are usually likely to be more affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
