Hate to leave this review but...
Let me preface by saying that the staff of the hotel was just excellent. They were well aware of the unfortunate situation in the country and I really felt safe and cared about in their hands. The only reason for low score is the private bathroom in my room reeked. And for some reason they have those "closet blind" doors, which basically stank up my whole room and the situation didn't improve throughout my stay. Also, the next door guest was a complete moron... blasting radio from 5 AM every morning but that's NOT on the hotel.

Great Time!

Our group had a wonderful stay at Rincon Familiar Hostel Boutique. The property is conveniently located near the historic district in Quito, which made getting around on foot very easy. We really enjoyed walking to the historic district square and having lunch every day. The weather was always so pleasant! The staff was also wonderful and always willing to help out with things like watching/locking up our luggage on our last day, giving us recommendations for things to do in the area, and providing us with fresh towels after we had been in the hostel for a few days. They also helped us locate a COVID testing site the day we were supposed to fly home. Our room was a bit musty and the shower didn't always reliably have hot water but overall I would say the pros greatly outweigh the cons. We would happily stay in this location again!

Rincón offers a beautiful view Panecillo and the statue of the virgin. Lots of plants align the different terraces. Steep Stairs - definitely be cautious. The staff was amazing and helpful. Breakfast is made fresh when you arrive and fresh juice is served every morning. It was my first time staying in a hostel.

I did not get to stay there because of the corona virus shutdown. My flight was cancelled. Expedia would know this if they would answer their phones and help me figure out what to do. The breakfast everyday was really good. Fresh prepared individually and the service was great. The guys at the front seat speak English and are very service minded. You can tell they want you to be happy and comfortable with your stay. My room had an excellent view of the angel. If I return to Quito, this is where I’ll stay.
