A lovely old Inn with loads of character

A lovely old countryside Inn which has been modernised to an excellent standard whilst maintaining the old features The bedrooms are of a good size with comfy beds and stylish ensuite with powerful shower The room we stayed in also had the added benefit of air conditioning which was welcoming indeed with the ouyside temps being over 30^c Food service and all staff were excellent and all in all we found The Star to be a great place to stay

Really lovely place in beautiful location. Room was fabulous, very clean and comfortable. Was very quiet too and got an excellent nights sleep. The bar was great for a late night drink before bed, staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent ( cooked options not included in price) the only negative was there was no gluten free option. Would definitely stay again.

All in all a great place to stay and eat good food

Very Friendly and welcoming staff with a great Ambience. I benefited from a free upgrade on my room which was a nice surprise. Pillows were fairly firm, some something to consider. All in all a great place to stay and eat good food

Enjoyable overnight stay

We stayed for one night after our spa day at Ragdale hall in this lovely traditional hotel/pub in the charming little village. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and absolutely spotless. We reserved a table in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely meal and the included continental breakfast the next morning. Very accommodating host, thank you. Would highly recommend!

Great stop for dinner & stay

A lovely room - with comfortable bed & clean, modern bathroom. Radiator worked well to warm it up - but slightly difficult to manage temperature as it seemed to only be on or off despite having a thermostat. Excellent dinner in restaurant with a huge fish & chip portions

Enjoyable stay

Fantastic room. Very spacious and spotless. Good choice of evening meals snacks and full meals available. Breakfast a little disorganised no places set had to ask for cups plates etc . Cooked food not included in price per night. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

8/10 Very good

Not ideal for bussiness as was noisy and no desk. Food good but value better if breakfast included
Mark, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

The rooms were a good size and very quiet and comfortable. The only niggle was that the bath smelled I think there was a drainage issue and the shower head was dirty. However the bathroom overall was clean. We stopped on our was back from a spa and had dinner downstairs, food was good quality and tasty although portions were huge! Breakfast was great too!
Versica, 1-night trip

Excellent stay but trouble with shower and sink couldn’t empty!
Sheila, 1-night trip

10/10 Exceptional

Really nice pub in the centre of the village, staff were friendly and happy to help, room was very nice and comfortable bed etc and the food in the restaurant was lovely. Only spoiled by really by local clientele in the bar area being loud, vulgar, misogynistic and racist laughing loudly over such jokes and old enough to know better. I’m no prude and travel widely but just no need in such a nice bar.
