Excellent stay, staff and food!

The staff were fabulous from first greeting, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I stayed for 3 nights, room was excellent, clean and with good amenities. Food quality of breakfast and dinner was first class, good choice and cooked to order. Portion sizes were huge! Despite being here on business the hotel is well placed and very relaxing. Overall excellent thank you!

Fantastic Derbyshire stay

The room was large and very comfortable with mix of modern and traditional to suit the old building. The bathroom was spotless and beautiful. We had to be out before breakfast normal serving time. The staff were amazing and spoke to the chef who allowed us to have an earlier breakfast. The porridge was delicious and creamy best I can remember.

Delightful country house hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Lovely gardens, large comfortable room and great bathroom. Easy walk into the heart of historic Cromford. Visiting relatives so only had breakfast which was excellent.

Hotel is in a beautiful setting. Just off the busy A6 but you wouldn’t believe it. Lovely gardens, every member of staff friendly, polite and looking to help you. Clearly training staff is key here. Room lovely, spacious and relaxing.

Unexpected Return

Absolutely fabulous accommodation. Evening meal and breakfast fabulous. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. When this hotel was a Toch H House 36 years ago went for Conference. Didn't know when booked with a friend it was the same place we'd met 36 years ago, total amazement!!!!

10 out of 10 for our stay last friday.it was a birthday surprise for my partner and oakhill hotel was fantastic, they had a banner put up in our lovely room and a birthday card on our table with our dinner really made our stay so special. The staff were all amazing from checking in to dinner to breakfast to checking out was 1st class a credit to oakhill.thank you so much we will be back.

Delightful stay at Oakhill

Stayed for three nights for a family get together. Oakhill was most welcoming with friendly staff and efficient service. Though we found the evening menu somewhat limited, the food was excellent and extremely well presented. The building had real character and the gardens were delightful. With it’s industrial heritage we all found Cromford an interesting area to explore.

Beautiful room, very clean and comfortable. Four stars only as noise from people in the room above was a little disruptive. Also, if planned building work will impact guests, it should be disclosed at booking.

The hotel was lovely, an older building but modern decor, very large comfy bed. Really lovely attentive staff. Breakfast was great, nice and fresh and good quality. 3 minute drive into matlock bath (20 min walk). TV decided to turn on by jtself around midnight which gave us a scare 😱. Skirting boards and bedside lamps were dusty (only noticed this as we had them on rather than the 'big light') but this is the only thing i have to say on the down side. Would definatley stay again.
