My 2 friends and I each booked rooms at this hotel, so 3 total. When we arrived they forced us into one room - it didn't look like they had any others available and it was late so we took it. They then tried to negotiate the price and the room didn't feel safe at all. I would not consider this a real hotel. Would not recommend anyone book here.

I have never had an Expedia problem until now. This is a hostel not hotel and it is BAD. The area is very dodgy and unsafe, no way to get transportation to main area, wild dogs and homeless and trashy. We arranged for airport transport and verified, no shuttle when we arrived. We reserved 3 rooms and when we arrived at 430 am they only had 2 for us. The room was dirty, the beds were dirty and had hair in them! The front door did not lock right, looked like it had been kicked in. The back "balcony" looks out over a dirty alley and there were barking dogs and people yelling. The shower leaked and only 1 towel for 2 people and there was an open electrical outlet in the shower. The other room had the same issues but had no windows and was like a converted closet. Also the front door to the hostel had a broken window and all they had to to was reach in and open from the inside. We stayed 4 hours because we had no choice but then had to switch hotels. He have been fighting with expedia since we returned 2 months ago and they are saying we can mot get a refund even though was definitely nothing like the pictures. We found a much much better hotel for not too much more. STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNLESS WANT A CHEAP HOSTEL IN A BAD NEIGHBOURHOOD

This property was not in a safe area. I paid throught expedia, got there, and had to sleep in a uber vehicle until the next day. Th manager tried to explaun himself but at that moment it was not safe for us to be there. In egypt it is a 1.5 star place. False advertment. Trying to resolve this through expedia but no one is responding. Looking for a email address to write to them.

This spot was perfect for my Cairo weekend because I was traveling alone. If I had my family with me, I'd of chosen someplace else. Neither the TV nor the air-conditioning remotes were working. It's close to a lot of things and the hustle of downtown, but it's not quiet or fancy by any means. Still, a bargain for sure.

for me the best of all my 4 hotels i visited in egypt. from the outside it is not impressive, but in the room it is. very clean, everything works and is there. I also saw a 4 person room that looked like a royal suite. in addition, very friendly service and a very good location. I will definitely go back there. I greet the staff

Excellent location
It needs updating! But the staff are amazing brilliant location, the bedding is always clean, that's one thing I can vouch for the bathrooms if they aren't as clean as you need the house keeping comes straight away! It's not a five star but an excellent hotel for families it's a hotel with respectable people and a very safe hotel!!! They would not enter your room without permission and nothing gets pinched from my own monitoring! Moustapha knows good English so thats a benifit the rest of the staff are great the hotel does tours with great prices My advice would be to the owner get the hotel updated a bit otherwise the rest is excellent its in the heart of the great city you'll find a lot I mean a lot of shops from clothes, restaurants to everthing! It's surrounds banks and governmental buildings so it gives the extra security I always come back to this hotel because of the location and safety Great staff great hotel

On the first night, I was assigned a small room with no windows. I asked for a different room. The next day, a bigger room with a window became available and was given to me for the following nine days. I loved the room and the fact it was on two pedestrian streets. So, there was no traffic noise. It’s a great location.

The staff was friendly. The breakfast was very modest, but probably they have such standards. They do not have a dining area so I had to have my breakfast in the room. The room was dark, I had to turn on the lights even in the morning. The location is good - 10 minutes walking to Tahrir square.

DO NOT BOOK! TERRIBLE HOTEL
The hotel is extremely bad, don't waste your money there. The rooms very all dirty and there were ants walking on the beds!! The Air Conditioner stopped working for two nights and the bathroom floated the room with water! The treatment of the owner was very disrespectful along with the staff. Please save your time money and time and don't book at grand cairo hotel if you want to enjoy your stay!

A good choice!
The hotel has seen its glory days in the 1920s. The condition of the rooms varies a lot. We saw some from nice and ok and really price savvy, and quite the opposite. Nevertheless, the normal price ca 15 $/person is a worthy consideration. The state of the bathrooms and toilets is usually the issues. We stayed three nights at the hotel and the rooms were not cleaned once. But, considering the short stay, it wasn’t a problem. The breakfast was also ok, considering the price, and there were no issues with hygiene or no stomac problems. Amazingly, the hotel offered real bed clothing and duvets and clean great, thick cotton towels, which you do not get even in all better hotels. The staff speaks English and was always very helpful, which was a great asset. Even the air port suttle offered worked for us without any difficulties. The rating, 3.5 stars, is of course massively debatable. I would say 2 stars. Nevertheless, the location of the hotel in Cairo is superb, which adds to its overall value as a good budget hotel.
