After booking a less than adequate hotel in Changsha, I went back to site came upon the Hampton. Location said Changsha, Liuyang, I figure it is district in Changsha. I phone the hotel and girl that answered had a little bit of English, but she got the assistant manager that had much more English. I asked if I could have her speak to cab driver for me to give him address, she absolutely would assist in anyway. She gave her personal cell number. Well we got driving and driving and I figure oh yea I found hotel in opposite corner of the city. Still driving and then we are out of the city, and I think I really blundered this time and I am going to the country. We come to Liuyang after about one hour and pull up to this lovely new hotel, I am greeted by Selina with a big warm welcoming smile. And from there until I was walked through my room and explained what all amenities were available she was with me. Fortunately for me I was on a get the feel of China experience. I chose not to go with a tour, since all of pretty sites was not what I was interested in. What a lovely city, more bite size that I have experience in. Beijing and Changsha a little overwhelming. But I met warm smiles throughout my stay in the hotel, and such cheerful assistance with anything I needed. I learned to take a photo on my phone of the hotel, then when I get lost which I had every intention of doing, just show any cab driver the photo and voila, back at the hotel.
