It’s a wonderfully presented hotel but in a really boring part of town, also not very walkable in the immediate vicinity, which I usually like to do to explore. In hindsight it’s probably a business trip type hotel.
I was also disappointed in service one of the days I stayed, a lady loudly disclosed my room number in the breakfast hall (which I didn’t appreciate for my privacy) and made a fuss while I was in the middle of eating saying breakfast wasn’t included, which it actually was. Even if it wasn’t included it was a silly thing to make a fuss over as if I was going to run away and not pay or couldn’t afford it, which is a rude assumption when I would have happily paid when settling my bill on checkout if it wasn’t included, which it was.
Aside from this the staff were generally nice but the breakfast incident left a bad impression and seemed unprofessional. Especially when comparing to some other amazing hotels I’ve stayed in on this trip, this stay fell short of my expectations of Fairmont hotels I’ve enjoyed in other cities.
