Nice hotel, but we had an incident that was not handled well by the staff. Around 10pm my wife was opening the drawer on the bedside table when the whole unit fell off the wall and landed on her foot. She was in quite a lot of pain so I called reception explained what had happened and asked for assistance. Within 10 minutes two maintenance men arrived to fix the unit, but no assistance for my wife. The 2 men got to work, making a terrible noise with drilling and banging. It was after 10pm, a lot of guests in nearby rooms were disturbed, one guest furiously barged into the room and started shouting at the maintenance men, complaining he couldn’t sleep. Other guest complained to reception & the night manager came to the room to find out what was happening, he was very concerned about the unit that had fallen off the wall, much less so about my wife’s injured food. He asked what she had been doing to cause the damage which was insulting under the circumstances. After an hour, the unit was fixed, we then had to wait another 30 mins for housekeeping to come and clean up the mess left by the work.
Next day we spoke to guest relations, the lady was more sympathetic, but when we said we wanted to make an accident report, her attitude changed. She reluctantly took a few details and said it would be logged on their system, but later when I asked for a copy of the report, she said it was against company policy to give guest a copy of accident reports.
