Learn more about Camogli

Pastel-painted houses cling to the hillside above a harbour where fishing boats still outnumber yachts. The scent of fresh focaccia mingles with salt air along the promenade where locals gather for evening passeggiata. Brave the steep staircases between buildings for rewarding views across the Golfo Paradiso. The tiny beach fills with Italian families in summer, their animated conversations providing free entertainment. Take a boat to San Fruttuoso Abbey, tucked into a cove accessible only by sea or challenging hike. Order the catch of the day at harbour restaurants where fishermen delivered it hours earlier. Save room for gelato while watching sunset paint the Mediterranean gold from the medieval castle that once protected this authentic slice of Ligurian life.

Hotel Continental Genova

Hotel Continental Genova

10/10 Excellent
"This review is for the Hotel Continental’s sister hotel, Hotel Grand Savoia, as we were upgraded to that hotel before arriving in Genoa. Check-in was seamless, the room was very well appointed with a super comfortable bed, and service was top notch. We almost missed checkout and our noon train departure time due to sleeping two hours later than planned due to the comfort and darkness (blackout shades) of the hotel room. This hotel, as well as the Continental, are steps away from the main train terminal in Genoa, and an easy walk to the terminal. We would definitely stay again if traveling through Genoa."

Hotel Laurin

Hotel Laurin

8/10 Good
"Santa Margherita is beautiful and almost as nice as Sestri Levante. Hotel Laurin sits in a wonderful spot. However, it has no beach and the neighboring beaches are very rocky. (There is no sandy beach for miles.) The hotel will give you a toweland point you in the right direction, but when you get there, you will pay 50 euros for an umbrella and 2 lounge chairs. THE SINGLE BIGGEST DECEPTION IS THE ROOFTOP POOL. They have strategically shot the pool with a wide-angle lens. The "wading pool" is VERY SMALL; too shallow on the small perimeter and too deep in the tiny center to actually use it. Yes, you can enjoy a cocktail by the pool; however, there is no rooftop bar and you will pay a 5 euro delivery fee. Each time. During our stay, the pool was occupied by noisy children, so we left after 20 minutes and never returned. Unfortunately, we booked the Laurin, in part, for the promise of a secluded rooftop pool... If, however, you are coming here for the breakfast? It is fantastic! And the covered balcony is very nice when you retreat from the pool. (Remember to bring your drink, as there is nothing in your fridge but 2 bottles of water.) For Italy, I am informed, the staff was nice. Do not, however, expect a smile. (Tip: The people of nearby Sestri Levante are warm and friendly, the beaches are nice, and the town is beautiful. And if you tire of pasta and shellfish every night? Sestri Levante is home to what is possibly the best Tex-Mex restaurant in all of Italy, Nauroz Tex-Mex.)"

Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you save on your stay at a hotel in Camogli. For those seeking distinctive experiences, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. For more affordable options, you might consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between cost and ease of access to your planned destinations. Additionally, exploring independent hotels located further out may offer a more authentic and budget-friendly experience, as they usually tend to be cheaper.
