I’ll start with the positives because I always try to be fair. The location of Haven Inn in Louisburg is super convenient for Seby Jones Performing Arts. Also, the front desk girl who helped reactivate my key card in the morning when we got locked out was genuinely nice and helpful.
Now…
The photos online are a little… optimistic. You can tell they attempted a renovation at some point, but the renovation team fell way short. The floors are bubbling, separating, and growing things in the in between.
Listen—I am not fancy at all. I’m the kind of traveler who just wants a clean place to sleep and a decent shower. But the bathtub was rough. There was mildew halfway up the tub and the shower curtain had clearly seen some things. Shower skipped for us.
For three people, we had one towel and two wash rags, a used roll of toilet paper, and a collection of used mystery, mismatched lotion/conditioner/shampoo bottles.
When I asked for more towels, they told me they had to wait for the other cleaning lady to finish washing some. The towels we eventually saw looked like they had served faithfully for about a decade and the mini fridge looked like it had rolled out of the back of someone’s pickup truck and was trying its best.
No bugs (we hope) (and no refunds) so we stayed. 😂 And no, I didn't complain - I got the hint with the "All Sales Final, No Refunds" sign at check-in.
My suggestion- book an Airbnb early. Sorry Haven, I kinda feel bad leaving a less than par review.
