Horwood House Hotel

Horwood House Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"Horwood House Hotel is a beautiful property, and we really enjoyed our stay. We only wished we had been able to arrive for the 3pm check-in so that we could have made even more use of the facilities. However, the staff were very accommodating when we asked about staying longer and allowed us to pay for additional hours and a late checkout. The option of a 2pm late checkout at £15 per hour was particularly useful. The spa was the real highlight for us. It was honestly one of the most relaxing hotel spas I have experienced. From the moment you walk downstairs, everything was clean, well maintained and easy to use. The lockers were straightforward with a simple code system, and there were heated relaxation loungers, a sauna and a lovely steam room. The sauna wasn’t initially switched on, but the staff turned it on for us, which we really appreciated. The steam room was clean, and there was also a lovely conservatory-style area to sit in, as well as an outdoor area. I can imagine it being particularly beautiful in the summer. The hotel itself is beautiful and would be a lovely location for events. We were there for a birthday celebration, which was fantastic, with a great atmosphere and good vibes. We weren’t able to explore the manor itself because there was a wedding taking place, but that is another reason we’d love to return. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. They catered well for us, including vegetarian sausages made from corn, oat milk and Earl Grey tea."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Aylesbury

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Aylesbury is during January, February, and November, when hotel rates are typically lower. For those looking to immerse themselves in the local history and culture, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This duration allows for the exploration of key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions. Aylesbury's friendly atmosphere, budget-friendly options for dining and entertainment, and inviting gardens make it a charming small town to discover, particularly under sunny weather. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as theatre performances and leisurely strolls through hilly landscapes, all while keeping expenses in check.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Aylesbury, consider exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted hotel rates as your travel date approaches. Additionally, activating email alerts or push notifications could keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don’t miss savings opportunities. The Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, so you're more likely to see the best options. This way, if prices drop or rooms become available, you'll be the first to know for an impromptu getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the season, so having flexibility with your travel dates might help you save on your stay at an Aylesbury hotel. If you're in search of something special, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price leans towards the higher end, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, increasing the chances of securing a better deal.
  4. Consider your location: Staying closer to major attractions or city centres can offer convenience, but it often tends to come with higher costs. For more affordable options, consider hotels in less central areas or neighbourhoods, striking a balance between price and accessibility to the sites you intend to visit. You might find that independent hotels located a bit further out are more likely to be affordable and can provide a more authentic experience.
