I don't understand how this hotel has as many good reviews as it does.
Firstly, I tried calling multiple times at different times of day (morning, afternoon, evening) to the hotel to find out reception open times and check-in times, as I was at work. I arrived around 8:30pm the day of check-in, and tried ringing the bell and calling again to no avail. A fellow guest let me in and gave me the code. I was then able to find my key left for me at reception and get into my room.
The room was old and cozy, I did sleep well on the bed. The bathroom floor was a bit dirty and the shower did not drain well.
There is no AC and a very loud sound when the bathroom light was on. The sign in the room said there would be cleaning every 3 days, I stayed 5 and the room was never cleaned. The soap ran out.
The lady at breakfast was very kind and the small breakfast was nice.
The hotel seems over 150 years old, and the last renovation seems to have taken place over 40 years ago.
Parking is very difficult on the street and you are at the mercy of finding an open spot.
The town is charming and there are some nice restaurants within walking distance.
Would I stay there again? Absolutely not.
